I personally would hate this, but if it happens, I'd like Tolle and Duran in return.

  1. Kinda feel bad for the dude that the injury he picked up by playing hard is the reason Carlos is now eating his lunch lol
But a dude of his level should be starting, I would want to go if I were him.
That being said I’d love to keep him if he were happy in a bench role and could maintain performance consistency…

  2. Trading him is just begging for our infield to collapse from injuries immediately afterwards lol

  3. I like Paredes a lot but we signed up for a large infield problem when we traded for Correa. There’s no way to avoid that we have too many infielders, since Correa and Altuve are not going anywhere that leaves Paredes and Walker. Walker is worth literally less than zero with his deal. Astros need to eat the majority of his contract or trade Paredes for someone like Duran, who would help our outfield.

So just comes down to what kind of payroll the team wants to have, but if you want any chance of staying under the tax threshold there is really only one choice, to trade Peredes.

  4. We are not getting Duran for Paredes, let alone Duran + another piece. Put it out of your mind.

  5. It would cost more than Paredes to get Duran back from Boston. He was the 5th most valuable player in the game according to bRef WAR in 24. His down year last year is better than Paredes best year.

Maybe Paredes plus 2-3 of the system’s top 10 prospects for Duran and one of their young SP?

  6. Casas, Early, Tolle, and Duran is my return demand, you want Parades you’re going to need to pay up.

  7. They pretty much have to. It is going to be hard to get him at Bats. Sure injuries could occur but you are not hoping for that

  8. In the absolutely unfortunate instance we trade Paredes, the only package I’d want in return is Abreu/Rafaela + Tolle/Early/Witherspoon.

We’re not going to trade away our 2nd best offensive player, arguably our most patient player, and an All-Star 3B for peanuts.

  9. We could hardly keep our starting infield healthy at the same time most of last season. I want Paredes on this team, I don’t care if we have one too many infielders. We had the same guys last year and it never once felt like we had too many of anything.

  10. Ideally, Abreu and Early…but, that may be too steep for Boston. I think you have to walk away with Tolle or Early in this deal no matter what…the other piece(s) are the ones up in the air.
