Probably one of the craziest finishes in NFL history. This game and SB43 are my top two Steeler games of all time.
And we still probably should have lost tbh. Vanderjagt didn’t miss that many FG’s. Seems like fate wanted the bus to go out in his hometown
Ben saved what legitimately could’ve been one of the most heartbreaking losses in Steelers history.
As Peezy said if that ending was a Hollywood script you wouldn’t believe it
I still have the brick I laid from this
What gets lost in all of this is how utterly dominant the Steelers were for like 55-56 minutes of that game. This play shouldn’t even have been needed if the refs don’t overturn the interception by Polamalu.
Also, I’m glad Bettis doesn’t have to go through life the way Bill Buckner did.
This game was my kids’ “this day in sports history” calendar story today.
i was at alex k’s house for this game if you can believe that!!!
The story that day ended with “He missed it!”
Yesterday was Mrs Harper Day in my house. Made sure to make the wife happy as I could so she doesn’t stab me in the ass so Big Ben can cut off my scoop and score in the divisional round of the playoffs.
Didn’t that dude get stabbed in the thigh the week leading up to that game by his wife/girlfriend/side piece?
What a game that was.
Just rewatched the highlights. That defense was crazy and it was fun hearing all those players names again
Still gives me anxiety to see thinking he is going to not make that tackle.
I blame my Steelers fandom of the 90s for my heart troubles today.
I think I remember the Bus saying someone actually had a heart attack over this game. Man I was only 9 and I was stressed tf out
I remember watching this live, when that ball popped out I think time slowed down around me.
A Steelers fan literally had a heart attack bc of this play. The Bus visited him in the hospital.
I was in college and hungover that day. This game took away my hangover.
Man I get its not yesterday, by any means. But holy shit does it not feel like 20 years ago.
That was one of the best tackle by the QBs. Ben saved the game and it was one of his moments of the games.
The moment my heart stopped momentarily
I’ve never seen the play from this angle. Thanks for posting the photo.
