  1. Fred Warner’s recovery and comeback is not only inspiring but as he said, “will be legendary.”

I’m anticipating him playing again much more than Bryant Young and Garrison Hearst coming back to the team from their injuries.

  2. My favorite comment when this was first posted was something like “Now I understand horse girls.”

  3. I want Fred to play, but I’ll be crushed if ends up re-injured and setting his timeline back. I want him healthy for OTAs and Training Camp peaking for September.

  4. I’m not sure if he’ll play or not, but I guarantee it means a lot to the other players that he’s even trying to practice and putting in the hard yards.

If he can actually get out on the field, even for a few players even better. But that is a true captain. Could’ve been really easy to just write off the whole season.

  5. But is he in football shape? After a long injury like that, it usually takes a couple of weeks to get back to point.

  6. It forces other teams to have to game plan differently if 54 is on the active list. It’s a smart move on the 49ers staff behalf. Even if it’s just a pump fake. 49ers medial staff is top tier. Rest assured they will not put him back on that field if he’s not ready for prime time. I take this mostly as postering, as well as moral boost as others have mentioned.

  7. One of my favorite moments. The banged up, underdog 49ers make a game winning stop to beat the heavily favorited rams in OT on a Thursday night in October. Fred’s reaction made me think, “Everyone watching that isn’t a 49er fan is rethinking that choice.”
