It feels like we’re just not acknowledging Cam Boozer nearly enough

It feels like we’re just not acknowledging Cam Boozer nearly enough

Boozer is a great player but his skill set and size seems to overlap more with Siakam than AJ does. That’s probably why he isn’t talked about as much.
I would absolutely love him in Indiana. He is like a mash up of David West, Kevin Love, + Al Horford.
He’s like a better Kevin Love. His stellar rebounding into his powerful outlet passing in Rick Carlisle’s system would make our quick buckets system even quicker. I’ve seen tons of comparisons: Al Horford, Paolo Banchero but more skilled and doesn’t take so many contested mid range shots, Alperen Sengun… where’s the downside? I’m not saying we should draft him first overall but good lord he’d fit like a glove and add a layer of physicality and rebounding we haven’t seen in a long time, maybe ever. Off the top all I can think of is David West?
Yeah, he’s a great college player. He doesn’t have the ceiling of AJ or Peterson.
People don’t talk about him just because his ceiling is perceived to be lower than that of Peterson or Dybantsa. He’s a great college player and I think his skills will translate well to the NBA. But the (relative) lack of perceived athleticism I think hurts him at least as far as public or fan perception goes.
I don’t think he’s going to translate to the NBA like dybantsa or peterson
Seriously no reason to care until the we know the lottery results.
Peterson, Boozer, Dybansta, Wilson all looking good. As long as we land in top 4 I think we are getting a great player. I think Boozer/Peterson will be the most plug and play rookies. Dybantsa and Wilson have high ceilings and can grow into something different.
Of course we would be happy to have him but with the lottery odds the way they are it’s more likely than not we won’t have the chance to pick him, even if we finish with the worst record. No reason to get hopes up until we know where we pick.
It’s because most of us watched his Dad play and see way too many similarities.
Idk man we are always wrong about this kinda stuff but watching him last night I see some of the criticism about him. He plays a lot of bully ball because he’s bigger than everyone which may not work in the league. That being said if we have the 3rd pick I’d still take him
He’s just an average NBA athlete. Good enough to play in the league, but isn’t going to wow anyone with his athleticism. His skills certainly translate, but his body… hard to say. He’s not particularly long either. The other guys talked about at the top of the draft are MUCH flashier athletes.
I’m not saying it’s right to look at him that way. I mean Luka and Jokic aren’t particularly great athletes either (to say the least), so it can certainly be done. But it is what it is. Compare him to Caleb Wilson, the other big talked about at the top of the draft. He’s the polar opposite. Just FULL of projectable athleticism, with none of the skill of Boozer.
I think a lot of people look at Cameron and worry they’re going to get Carlos. A good NBA player for sure, but not the building block you build a championship team around. But a guy that you add to that “GUY” to build a championship roster around (if that made sense). Though, tbf, Cameron is a better shooter right now than Carlos ever was.
He will get more acknowledgment if we end up with the 3rd pick
I mean he’s the third overall rated player in the draft only behind some crazy impressive talent. I don’t think that’s a knock.
If we pick third he’d be awesome to have
Pacers ain’t getting a top 3 pick unless they get very lucky and defy lottery odds
He’s easily my favorite college player out of the conensus top 3. He’s so fundamentally sound in every aspect of the game which makes it all look so easy for him and he just gets to his spots with such ease. I worry about his fit with Siakam on the team, but I would take him number 1, but I would be ecstatic with any of the conensus top 3.
I’ll take Caleb Wilson
What’s the chances he has one notable growth spurt left? Could be the difference between him being the first pick or the third.
Hes going to be good and would be a very Pacer like pick
I think you are absolutely correct, I am a die hard Duke fan and have been following him since highschool, dude is a winner and a competitor. People don’t like him as much because he’s not flashy, but his IQ is through the roof. He’s effective and efficient when doing it, people don’t think this Duke team is very good, while I can agree in some aspects, Cam Booz has willed this blue devils team to a 15-1 record while leading the team in everything but blocks, and not to mention being a leader scorer per game in the nation. Aj and Peterson have more hype behind them, but in my opinion and I could be wrong, I think he will end up having a better career because he’s built to last. He’s a extremely skilled player and I think will translate well to the NBA, plus pascal ain’t getting any younger and the bigs we have don’t really seem to have a higher ceiling that what they are now. I think boozer is a player who can come in and fit very well with Tyrese and nembhard, I don’t know if I can see Nembhard Tyrese and Peterson would be the best fit.
If we draft Boozer, I would be on cloud 9. Pro ready day 1.
I like Braylon Mullins from UConn. Has more to show but that kid is going to be an absolute stud and would fit like a glove on this roster
