In just a few months this organization has received an infusion of intriguing young talent and that excites me
If anyone here remembers the Wagner Mateo disaster from back in the day, you’ll understand how you must take these signings with a grain of salt.
The 8th best guy… not “future stud” and still lottery ticket.
OP huffing that hopium
I like it. These guys may never make AA for all I know but if they load up on prospects like these hopefully some will pan out.
Yeah, is anyone else concerned that he’s a DR “teenager”?
International free agency is fun. We got rainiel Rodriguez for 400k in 2024 and he’s at A+ right now and has some crazy power
I get that it’s more complicated than any of us know, but it’s so nice seeing us actually pony up for a kid in the Caribbean than spend our budget on 100K guys.
Time will tell if this works out but I’m just happy to see the new FO spending on guys like this. There’s a huge pool of potential that the last FO never really took a risk on.
I think we need to pump the brakes on thinking this guy is the next Judge or Pujols. Fangraphs has him at a 40 FV.
And if he’s 17, he might not grow any. I was 5’11” on my 16th birthday and maybe, just maybe, I grew a 1/2″. And I didn’t even have to start shaving regularly until I was 20
Idk if the issue was Mo or if the Dewitts are just being less controlling, but I’m loving these first few months of Bloom!
God damn this offseason has been a breath of fresh air.
Nothing flashy, but just a cohesive idea and plan for the team that is all working in the same direction.
RemindMe! 5 years
Looking at MLB.com’s list of international prospects, they like Luna a lot more (no 8) than Fangraphs did, but he was the only one on the top 50 that we signed
We have a crazy number of lottery ticket arms in the system right now. There are probably 10 possible starters for each of our Class A teams. Springfield and Memphis should have some interesting competition as well. I’m more interested in watching our MiLB teams this year than the Cardinals themselves.
