I've been watching the game in Berlin, and it was very interesting to see Dirk and German players on Orlando team playin Memphis. But it got me thinking…
We have Luka and Jokić whose home countries (both big basketball counties) are relatively close to each other.
Why not make it Lakers vs Denver with Ljubljana game being Lakers home game and Belgrade game being Denver home game.
Ljubljana has a sport stadium that plays FIBA games and has capacity of 13 thousand people (same as that Berlin game). You have Goran Dragić who can serve same role Dirk, not a champ but he was a relevant player who went to the finals.
On the other hand Belgrade has impressive stadium that can pack up 18 thousand. You can take Poku as a sidline guy for that game.
Balkan countries are producing good players and we have two of top 3-5 players from those countries. It would be a shame not give this to the fans.
You are bringing two of the best from NBA, maybe even LeBron to the europe to promote the game.
I sent this to podfather as he has mailbag again on his pod. I would love to hear his opinion as well.
Is this a good idea or not?

The Magic makes sense because two Germans play for them… But they should of had a match up with another Europe heavy team, or more popular team instead of the Grizzlies.
I agree with this, especially since the NBA is trying to grow itself internationally and foray into Europe.
It makes sense for them and it makes sense for us as fans.
Glad you forwarded it to Bill Simmons cause I think if it gets traction it might happen next season.
This will never happen, NBA does not want to collaborate with smaller European countries, especially not the Balkans lol. We’re super poor and insignificant for them to give a fuck. They will always only come to France, Germany, Spain, UK etc.
Nuggets vs Heat in Belgrade
NBA LONDON – but Grizzlies vs Magic … i mean who really wants to see that shitshow
