I like the look of this, particularly if Matt McLain can regain his footing. I not especially fond of JJ Bleday. He has a little power, but if he can’t figure out how to hit better than .215, we might as well just stick with Benson.
It looks like we somehow got worse lol
I like the bullpen and rotation. I dislike how our plan is hoping for CES. McLain, and Bleday/Myers to become everyday beasts. I don’t think they all will, but the only realistic alternative is snatching up Andujar to work into our collection of sometimers.
TV stuff and lockout fear is making the crappy ownership even more risk averse, and they’re blowing a solid roster with pennywise nonsense.
Good on Krall for turning Zulueta and Lux into Burke, a prospect, and some cash that could help get Andujar (or could help ownership front-load the next renovation in the El Cheapo Dream House). Krall is at his best when bargain shopping and trading.
Should have come with a NSFW tag.
Benson can play CF when needed.
CES is not starting over Sal
Andujar platoon ?
That right there looks like a 4th, maybe 3rd place in the NL Central, but we’ll have some fun moments, give a few bobbleheads away, and trot out the Big Red Machine where possible, roster.
I hate the Dodgers, I also hate the Castellinis, baseball is broken.
Looke like a third place team in the Central.
Looks like 75-81 wins
So the only change from last year is adding JJ Bleday. Lmao wow that outta put us over the top! Clam down Bob, don’t spend too much!
Has it always been this hard to find bats in the outfield? It seems like in the 90s and 00s, everyone had a Jay Bruce good for 25HRs, 85 RBIs, and like 2.5 WAR.
Where is that guy?
You have to like the pitching staff. Rhett Lowder waiting in the wings if anyone falters. Nice bullpen additions. The team is built on pitching and defense. But I do wish they could move Friedl to LF and get a CF that hits. But I don’t know who the trading partners are to do so.
I will be surprised if CES makes the team out of camp but i hope so. Reds have a few tradeable pitchers for a bat right now as well. Desperately need a left fielder. Lowder, singer, and Brandon williamson are all options although Williamson just came off tommy john. Hopefully chase petty can bounce back/figure it out so he can be useful.
So much banking on bounce backs from McLain, Bleday and to a lesser extent Elly. Not impossible, but I’d feel a lot better if we added 1 more legit bat.

This seems like a lot to put on Stewart

That’s a top 5 rotation in baseball
