Fans are mainly angry they’re not getting to see more of a guy we were told could be the best Flyer since Lindros. It’s really not rocket science. I get where he’s coming from, but he’s also gotta realize this fan base is starving for high end talent to watch.
The development of the potential future of the franchise was always more important than a potential playoff spot for a team that was never going deep this year. I would never accuse Biz of being intelligent. But it’s evident he and Whitney have been acting in bad faith on Mich all year. They are mouthpieces for Tocch.

Probably because smart fans could recognize that truly the only reason we were in a playoff spot was because our stop gap rental goalie has been having a career season and our team as a whole (outside of the addition of Zegras) hasn’t actually improved all that much from the team that was in contention for the number 1 overall a season ago
Biz, if you say something about a player and 95% of your audience hears it as bashing that player, that’s on you. Either you were bashing that player and now you’re being pissy that you got pushback, or you genuinely weren’t trying to bash him but worded your point in a way where your real message was lost.
So maybe stop sounding like a petty teenager with the whole “thanks to the 17 people who got what I was saying” and maybe figure out how you, a person who makes his living in front of a microphone, can learn to communicate your points coherently.
Maybe it’s just me but being focused entirely on how the short term fix(well at the time they were) Unrestricted Free Agent signings are dragging us into a playoff spot for 1 single season over the development of younger future franchise players seems a bit more selfish.
But again maybe that’s just me.
Edit. Or at the very least it’s extremely short sighted.
We don’t need to be lectured about being “selfish” for not caring about some meaningless mid-season appearance in a playoff spot.
The rebuild is going to depend on how well Michkov develops, not if we can be proud of a 2026 playoff appearance.
He is not wrong, but he also is playing up the angle to get the Philly attention.

Flyers PR furiously looking for a backpedal here and absolutely asked for this type of follow-up. The org wildly miscalculated that we wouldn’t see through Tocchet’s mouthpieces publicly airing his at least tacitly-approved Michkov talking points.
how crazy am i for thinking michkov takes a step as long as he stays on the right wing and stays on a line with barkey? i honestly think people will stop complaining about him the second people see his production go up and i think the *only* way his production goes up is if he stays permanently on RW.

It’s a circular argument. The media and fans have both overdiscussed. He’s having a bit of a sophomore slump. But his analytics seem decent. I think moving him off RW was a mistake.

Everyone’s missing the obvious part of this whole situation. He’s playing on the 3rd line with our spare parts as linemates. Tell me who is going to produce on a line like that?? And not even on our pp1 unit. It’s so painfully obvious it doesn’t matter he’s only getting 10 minutes a night if he was with Zegras and Dvorak he would have 15 more goals this season even if hes out of shape
I mean, I honestly could care less what this guy has to say. He’s part of one of the worst coverage teams and networks full of a bunch of guys who look like they barely do their research coming into these games, and just spout off stupid nonsense 95%-99% of the time.
Love the national people weighing on a team they spend little to no time covering. The Flyers are an afterthought to them and their opinions should be an afterthought to those of us who follow this team daily through each and every up and down.
