[Steven Patton] Mahomes’ back has to hurt from carrying the Chiefs
January 15, 2026
The Help Score is a composite of:
Pressures Over Expectation (POE)
Target Separation Delta (TSD)
Basically a composite score of how much help the offensive line and receivers are giving the quarterback.

Wow this looks like an elite metric. All the top eye test QBs are along the top right to center bottom line.
I’m surprised at how many folks are against drafting an offensive weapon in round 1 after watching this season.
Not sure if it was more his back that took the pressure or his ACL.
JJ McCarthy yikes. Football is a lot more tough when you don’t know the other teams signals.

Holy shit 😂 that’s a crazy visual.
All teams that made it through wild card round are on the top right. Seems like a solid graph.
Maybe they should go out and get him some actual wide receiver help

That just sounds wrong
r/toprightmahomes just inverted axis.
Watching the last few games without mahomes. Its glaring how much he carried the team.
Very important to consider in context of Mahomes coming off an ACL. He may not be as mobile right away, and probably shouldn’t be anyway. Get him some easy answers in the run and pass game.
No, it’s his knee
Should add in the rushing EPA (or some other rush metric) to the help score.
I’m confused, how do Spencer Rattler and Tyler Shough have different QB help scores on the same team
Single players even generational QBs don’t carry teams. It’s why KC went 6-11 this year.
That’s why his knee blew out. Excessive valgus loading due to being hit by a defender while also carrying the entire team
This guy is an idiot. Its his knee thats hurt
This team is not good, and it won’t be good for at least 2 more years. It has almost no blue chip talent, they’re going to lose multiple starters on defense without some serious cap magic, and the coaching is inept.
Essentially: without Mahomes the Chiefs are dogshit. He took a team friendly deal for a reason. Do your job Veach
