As a leafs fan for 5 decades marner was the stupidest thing they did letting go id rather seen a few of the others get the boot
Mitch is a top 20 player in the league. He soured what had otherwise been a great career in TO by the way he left. Toronto is a team with little assets other than those on the ice. Mitch could have given the Leafs a top player or a few top picks/prospects in return, but he walked away and we got nothing. No doubt that he will get the Tavares in Long Island treatment for the rest of his career when he visits Toronto.
