  1. Young, as I think you guys have pointed out, seems to come on strong after an initial dip in when he changes levels. He had his dip, but he looked like a competent hitter even at his worst. The results just weren't there. I don't remember him taking bad swings, ever, or chasing pitches. I don't remember him struggling to see off speed or to catch up with the fastball. What I do remember were a lot of good swings, some extremely hard hit balls, and a good eye. I think he's a great choice for the list.

Edit…thanks for being in my side and correct, about Raley. He's my other guy. All he has to do is what he's done twice already and his value to them is about 100X more than Canzone. I wish they'd just unload Canzone.

  2. I am fairly high on Young. I think he will quickly turn into a reliable 2 WAR guy this year. But as you both constantly point out, if he doesn't you're screwed as currently comstructed.

  3. Nothing wrong with irrationally loving Dae Ho Lee! I was very excited when he joined the Mariners. I'm Korean-American and didn't get a chance to see Shin Soo Choo play in Seattle before he was traded to Cleveland, so I made sure to watch Dae Ho Lee during his lone season with Seattle.
