Phillies broadcaster Ricky Bottalico blows up as the Phillies miss out on new Mets’ Bo Bichette

“Right now, the Phillies basically have the same lineup right now, minus Harrison Bader. Where does this really lead you? Number one, this made the Mets a lot better. So, closes the gap in the NL East. Look, I understand you want to get J.T, fine. You wanted that, that was your secondary thing. Which I find odd. I find this awfully odd, that they were like “Oh Bichette is not coming here, let’s panic and get J.T right now, when we have heard from multiple people that nothing on the table for J.T anyway. This sucks. This absolutely sucks. Because when you’re that close to getting somebody. Donte Bichette, the New York Mets, Major league freaken baseball. Bo, Dante, he’s not a Phillie, who cares? I don’t care what his name is anymore. When you really look at this whole thing in a picture, this just really really sucks. And it hurts the Phillies lineup. This was something that everybody was kind of clamoring for. It was one of those things that was going to change the whole aspect of the team. Maybe even change or feel if you’re a fan and you’re watching and you’re like ‘Wow, look at what Rob Thomson could have one thru four in the lineup. Interchangeable lineup.’ You know where that went? Poof! Bye bye! No longer hitting with a purpose here, no. I will tell you this much, if I’m the Phillies, if he opts out after the first year, I’m not getting back into the sweepstakes. I can’t wait for 2 things with the Phillies
1. Continued crashouts like this by the Philly crew but in regular season games, and especially against the Mets
2. Those same guys to treat finally beating the Mets 1 game at Citi as a pseudo World Series. I don’t think they’ll be perfect at home again and get it to 20 games in a row

They laughed at the Mets for doing exactly that.
Phillies fans wanted Bichette.
They punched a hole in their wall when the Mets signed him.
I can’t wait for how they react to Castellanos being in the lineup on opening day.
Steve Cohen spending money to make Ricky Bo angry is money well spent.
I don’t know what’s better, the fact that we signed Bo, or that we stole him from the Phillies. Might give the edge to the latter at this early stage 🤣

The Dodgers screwed us, we screw the Phillies. Maybe this is the true pecking order.
Its actually incredible how, idk, childish philly media personnel are. Its incredibly entertaining but also kinda concerning like wtf is in their water.

A waiter put a great smelling savory steak in front of the Phils. Just as they picked up their fork and knife to cut a piece to put it in their mouth, the Mets pulled the plate away 😂
