With how close we are to the luxury tax, as much as I wanted it to happen and for him to come back, I didn’t see Caratini coming back unless we shed some more money. I respect Crane’s mindset of not exceeding the luxury tax unless we know we are in contention as the season passes, but it is sad to see Caratini leave.

I know this is not anything anyone here wants to hear (and I’m not suggesting throwing in the towel by any means); but what’s the point anymore? Why don’t we just hand the trophy off to the doyers every year and be done with it? Actually, everyone else can just compete for a different trophy, the doyer trophy goes to the doyers and everyone else just competes for something else. Well, at least until MLB figures out what a freaking joke this sport has become.
