  1. The Steelers are old at too many key spots. TJ is still a good player, but he is being paid in his aging years like a super star. They'll be lucky if he has another season worth what they are paying him. Their young talent is largely inconsistent. They have no starting QB. They have lots of work to do and they are picking in the 20's again. I guess we will see but I expect we have a few lean years ahead of us regardless of who the next coach is.

  2. All he needed was a QB, it’s a QB driven league. And as a Steelers fan I never fell out of love with Tomlin, I have so much respect for that man. Obviously I just wish we would have won another with him. But we’ve been blessed to have 3 HOF head coaches

  3. Quitting on his team is the best coaching decision Mediocre Mike has ever made. He won a superbowl with Cowher's staff, players and philosophies and did nothing since. I wonder how many more rings Big Ben would have if he wasn't burdened with the cheerleader who play acted being a coach.

  4. Everyone that says why Mike Tomlin walked away is total speculation. You aren’t in his head !! Emediatly skipping this and anybody that says they know

  5. WHY do you national media (swearword) keep saying, ". . . and the Steelers don't know who their QB is going to be?" First, it is a stupid narrative (as in just keep repeating something whether it is true or not). Second, the '26 Steelers QB is going to be Mason Rudolph and/or Will Howard. Where the Steelers will be drafting this year, there are only QB suspects coming out of college. No one at the combine (excepting Mendoza) is going to be better than Rudolph or Howard in '26. Third, short of an explosion, there are no FA QBs available that are an improvement over Rudolph. None. Fourth, teams don't trade good QBs. Yeah, the Steelers will pony up and get Joe Burrow for a second-round pick and LT Broderick. STOP with the fantasy football narratives.

  6. For some players, like T.J. Watt, they know that next year is likely a rebuild and probably the year after. He has to be thinking that there is a good chance there will two years of a losing record and by then, he will be washed up.

  7. OK guys -you’re laying it on a little thick. We get – he’s the greatest of all time. Damn. It’s OK, he’ll be back again someday to coach again and you guys can slurp him up in real time.

  8. Man… I was never thought he was a top 3 coach any year… but he was always a top 6 to 3…. He made some bad teams play better, but also had a few good teams just good…. His supeebowl victory… He coached em yes, but that team was alreagy great

  9. I have a lot of respect for Mike Tomlin. But I have to laugh at this notion that he could bring in troubled individuals. That might be the downfall of the Steelers was the cousin bringing guys like Metcalf who caused issues. He never got him under control.

  10. He may have had a read on players during pro day that others did not. How'd that work out? How did that translate to quality drafts and success? Not very well in the big picture. Yes, connecting with people is very important but its not the only measure and thats not what he was being paid to do.

  11. The key in life is to realize life is short. If he didn’t have a superbowl ring he probably would have stayed. But when you have a record like his and relationships like he has why go through a total tear down and likely multiple years of losing to maybe win one more? Let the next guy do that

  12. He was ASKED to leave……….respectful firing………you guys are a joke…….YOU DO this for a living? ok? you guys are ridicules.

  13. I just think he had a Qb after Ben we wouldn't be talking about and he is the only coach every year media and other screaming fire I would step down as well taking so many disrespect also not having the QB for years so im happy for your peace bro

  14. You can’t compete with a QB that his age starts with 4. Coach T knew that wasn’t going to work but it also shows how bad the qb situation really is in the NFL
