Jarace Walkers EPM throughout the season.
Over the past couple of weeks he’s becoming a positive player for the first time in his career.
The beginning of the season was brutal but looks like things are starting to simplify a bit for him. The stats will look bad when you look at the whole season so far but he’s definitely trending in the right direction.

Cool chart. This is encouraging and matches the eye test. He was so bad early on but he had been playing pretty solid (with only a few bonehead plays here and there) the last several games.
This was lightly mentioned at the beginning of the year but his injury from the Knicks series lingered quite a bit into the summer. I forget when I heard he returned to 100% basketball activity but it was surprisingly close to the start of the season than most were expecting. I’m hoping the poor beginning of the season was a result of him not being able to develop over the summer
that beginning of the season really looked brutal for everyone
He was way out of his depth early on in the season. More recently, it feels like he’s been placed back into a more suitable role with the bench unit.
Shooting 56% from 3 for a month will help as well. I continue to be impressed with his spot-up shooting (even if his form/shooting motion seems less than smooth).
Said it last night, but I have liked what Shep, Furphy, and Jarace have been showing recently. Not flashy, but looking like serviceable bench unit pieces going forward.
I’m no expert. Maybe those smarter than me know more or know better. That being said, the two things I notice are 1. his shooting has dropped from the last two years. 2. He’s sooooo slow to make a decision on offense. In the time it takes him to pump fake before shooting, or simply to decide to continue rotating the ball across the arc, the defense has re-setup.
That being said, man if he puts it together he can be a special player. *fingers crossed*
Small role Walker = 👍
Big role Walker = 👎
Eye test says it’s getting there. But lets be real it doesn’t look great. Just a little better. Hes just a kid still tho.
