3. I know it’s been said at nauseum but ownership needs to clean house everyone must go including Marty.  It’s been 10 years with this group… 10 fucking years. Nothing has gotten better.  When shero first took over we were an untalented team that tried hard but sucked.  Now we’re a talented team that is mentally fragile, can’t finish, and can’t adjust to styles of play.  Last night was the perfect example of what this team is.  Dominating the first 30 minutes had 4 or 5 great chances but couldn’t finish.  Carolina capitalizes on there first good chances and we fold.  I’ve never seen a team this fragile before it’s fucking sickening. 

4. Was the game last night. No idea why they chose to start Marky over Allen since Marky had the last start. I know the first one was on Luke but the others Marky either let it dribble in or sat there like a deer in headlights.

   I understand why they traded for him since we needed a goalie and on paper he was better than what we had but his extension is becoming more unforgivable by the day. 

   Keefe’s slow, defensive based system where we try to win games 1-0 instead of 5-4 is never going to work with him in net. 

   On a side note, I was talking to one of the ushers and he told me before warmups he saw Dougie skate out and just look around and that he’s never seen someone do that. Makes me think there may be teeth to the trade rumors, although I wish at this point they look at Kovy or even Pesce given his play this year before Dougie. 

5. Damnit. 5 straight losses for me in person. Gonna take a break.

6. It’s not losing alone that hurts, it’s how pathetic we look as we do. Marky looking like he’s 80 years old and falling over himself, all the skaters with their heads hanging low. Just no fun and Keefe stands back there looking dead inside.

7. I’m seeing a ton of players called out here and there but I haven’t seen the Jack call outs. Guy has had 2 goals since November. 2. Can’t win games without your top guys chipping in. Get your groove back JACK

8. If they won’t fire Fitz or Keefe mid season, can Colliton or Rogoalsagaisntki go? either one or let’s get wild and can both at this point!

9. In all seriousness there’s still lots of games left but something needs to changed before it’s too late.

10. Even if we do make playoffs, this team has no chance against the canes. I hate saying it but they own us. A personnel switch up needs to happen at minimum

12. Jack missing on that breakaway and being overall non existent since he’s come back reminds me of ‘23-24 when he would miss on similar plays and you knew he wasn’t “right”. Eventually that led to the first shoulder surgery. I don’t know why he’s playing at this point other than to keep his Olympic spot which is honestly frustrating.

13. Weve needed a change for 2 full years now. Either make a trade or clean house. Do something for the love of god

15. I missed this game due to family commitments. Sounds like it was for the best.

17. A perennial bottom feeder that just fired their coach has passed us in the standings.

    We’re two points out of being last in the conference. The team that is in last literally declared this season lost.

    And somehow, somehow Tim Fitzgerald still has a job. In what is supposed to be the fourth year of our cup contending years.

18. Our defense needs to communicate. Marky needs to communicate to his D men.

    Offense needs to better. Passes need to be crisper, and we need to be more aggressive. Only we way we beat Carolina is by goals and violence. Kov is an example of that.

19. This team is cooked

20. I had a weird reaction to that loss.

    For weeks I had stopped getting upset at Devils losses. Weeks ago I came to the conclusion that the Devils are going to be a mess as long as they are running Keefe’s systems (and running the group that Fitz assembled). So why get upset at outcomes that are the predictable result of dysfunctional inputs?

    But, for whatever, reason I was upset at the Devils loss last night.

    The logical and rational part of my brain says ‘That is exactly the way one should expect that game to go, given the manifest realities of the easily identifiable dysfunctions that are not fixable in the short term.’

    But…for whatever reason the irrational fan side of my brain won out over the logical and rational part of my brain after that loss.

    Must be because it was against the Canes.

21. This team has multiple problems.

    It has a coach issue. The poor defensive play and not adjusting to other teams.

    It has a player leadership issue. This team is rarely ready to play in the first period. It crumbles after one bad goal. This is on the players.

    It has a Hughes issue. Jack has not at all progressed and is not the superstar to carry a team. Great player but not that player. Luke held out for a big paycheck. He has not played up to it.

    Our Core is not mentally strong enough to win big games. This is a weak team.
