The School of Hard Knocks is in session for us Detroit Lions fans
Without a doubt. You need both a great offense/defense to progressive through the playoffs and onto the Super Bowl. It's worrisome that Brad Holmes seems to think, their current defensive roster is still…"good enough".
After watching some playoff games. I have questions, is are defense slow? They seam slow compared to the team’s left. I don’t think we belong in there this year.
What is we kept Ben Johnson as Head Coach ?
Detroit against everyone is real… we have to earn it harder than most
I 💬 the OC pick is Peez. The more Seattle advances the longer we wait. DC is steady watching the game or film on the Seattle s offense. I just 💬 it's Peez. Now it is totally up to Peez if he wants to take an HC position instead of another OC position. Although 9ers gave up 41 points I'd still hire Saleh as my DC. We have more talent than the 9ers. Something Saleh has plenty to scheme and work with. Peez as OC…Saleh as DC . 2 coordinators a big steal from the NFC West. Peez-Saleh sounds like a law firm….
You think you are ready for a child and they are a blessing… but you dont know until you know.. Brad needs to make moves … drafting is great but now grow a pair
Seahawks looked REALLY GOOD!!!!
Happy for Sam Darnold !!!
We should poach from the Seahawks
A simple aspect Brad just doesn’t seem to understand. Defense wins championships. This is the second historically great defense John Schneider has built since he came to Seattle. And they are poised to head to their 3rd Super Bowl in that time frame. Had Brad given that kind of attention to defense rather than a “We’re good” attitude, he could be in the same position. Since Brad and Dan came in, the defensive improvement has been marginal. Average WILL NOT WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP. Just ask the 2013 Broncos, the greatest offense to ever play the game, humiliated by a great defense. Brad needs to learn from history, lose some pride and adjust. Until he does, our team will remain entertaining yet mediocre, while the great defensive teams dominate everyone they meet and win championships. We remain on the outside looking in.
The half-time adjustments were killing me. Seeing a run game that is clearly not working tried over and over again was VERY frustrating. I love our run game when the line is good enough to make that happen. But, forcing plays, then forcing Goff to try to be Captain Comeback was absurd. Great teams always make a great gameplan and make the proper adjustments in real time not just well after the fact. Being in constant 4th. down "Go-for-it" situations was also VERY frustrating. There certainly are times when going for it makes sense. As in when punting would be foolish, and kicking a field goal is a bad idea or it's the 4th quarter and you NEED two touchdowns or else.
Great observation and great video!
This is great analysis Dave!
I have been following the Lions for 50 years and I thought 2023 and 2024 were best team I have ever seen yet empty where Superbowl trophy goes. But these nuances of coaching like changing game plan. I can't figure out what's working for Seahawks and not for Lions. Anyways I don't think Seahawks will win Superbowl. This year
49ers' injuries did them in just like last year's Lions. Brad Homes is guilty of arrogance and overconfidence and so is Campbell. Hiring an OC and DC with training wheels is not what a Super Bowl caliber team should do. Let's hope they learned their lessons and will fix the O-line and D-line. Being frugal cheapskates is why they failed this year.
Darnold had 124 yards. Look at the score. Defense wins in the playoffs. Defense wins championships.
💯💯💯
Brad Holmes is afraid to take risk and he drinks his on kool aid. Seems to come off has a person who doesn’t like to be proven wrong
