What an absolute champ. Delaying surgery and prolonging his pain to align with the Wings schedule? Mickey is an absolute treasure. I have no doubt he’ll be back better than ever with a few ginger ales in hand.
Well I hope it goes well and he is back soon. Glad they put out a statement and did not leave it as some mysterious thing people could speculate on.

I’d love to hear that Todd took this into the locker room as a lesson on what it takes to be great. “Look at what this guy is willing to do. He timed this out to miss the least amount of games possible. He’s 79, in chronic pain. What lengths are you willing to go to for this franchise?”
I’ve had one of these, my surgeons were awesome and I’m doing great, so fingers crossed for him. Plus, now my neck is titanium which is stage 1 on my plan to become a robot. It wasn’t easy though and recovery took quite a while, and I probably should have taken longer.
I hope he spends the time needed to get better so he can announce many Red Wings cups.
