Fumbled 10s of Millions in two weeks

  1. In a twisted way this was one of the best things to happen to this franchise, because there’s 0 doubt now that we should not extend him.

  2. He is still going to get paid. But if it’s us, we’re not a serious organization. About to waste a generational defense because the offense can’t even get 10 yards

  3. You all glossed over his wonderlic score lol. He doesn’t have the brain to ever be an elite or even good nfl starting qb.

  4. If Texans let him walk and he balls out somewhere else, good for him. Zero fucking reason for him to play like this when his defense kept him in the game for the better part of 4 quarters. And is inaccuracies led to Stover getting injured too

  5. This entire offense needs to be blown the fuck up and started over. Everyone except Nico has to go.

  6. New ranking of Texans QBs dropped:
    1. Mills
    2. Mertz
    3. Toro
    4. JJ Watt
    5. Cal
    6. CJ Stroud

Edit: Due to popular demand, effective immediately Hannah is the new number 5. CJ shares his jersey number with his ranking.

  7. Man two years ago I thought it was shoe in he was getting paid after year 3. He’ll even after shaky last year he was still getting it imo. He had absolutely the worse year 3 he possibly could’ve had. Absolutely wasted an insane defensive effort too.

  8. Another QB who had a fluke 1st season was crowned elite and is now considered to be mostly trash. Honestly if you played your back up after the half I think you guys would have won.

  9. Move this man. He’s done for in Houston. Somebody mentioned to me the Ohio State QBs never make it in the NFL. I supported this too long

  10. Why not fucking bench him? Demeco was so worried about CJ’s feelings, he threw away a perfect opportunity to get to the SB. Fuck man

  11. CJ has been fully turbo ass this playoffs, 100%

    And

Why is our QB regressing year over year? ROY to mediocre to average-mid (regular season) to awful (postseason). Why can’t our coaching develop a QB or at least maintain him at his rookie level? Rookie Stroud wins that game by 2 scores even without Collins, Schulz or a run game

  12. It’s so frustrating because he has all the tools to win except one: His mental. I’ve genuinely never seen a QB with lower emotional fortitude. It feels like his confidence is non-existent these days and he’s skittish on every play leading to bones headed decisions.

It’s a shame because I think he’s a great dude and he very well may pop off like crazy somewhere else, but I’m nearly 100% sure that his high-level play days with the Texans are permanently a few years behind him.

  13. People got A LOT of shit for speaking frankly on Strouds play at Pittsburgh.

    What’s the excuse today?

    Stroud lost that game

  14. From a Patriots fan, Texans are a great football team. The weather compounded the QB’s issues and I think the coaches would not adjust for whatever reason

  15. Regardless of everything else, there’s no reason to look elsewhere for a qb solution.

This is a thin draft for quarterback and there are plenty of teams way ahead of us that are looking for an answer. Having to pay Will Anderson will ensure that trying to make a trade and sign for another quarterback just isn’t an option, and we can put off the extension for another season with Stroud.

While I personally don’t think there’s any scheme issue that caused Stroud’s meltdown, given our lack of reasonable other options, I think the Texans would be best to just play this next season with Stroud under center with another year of Caleys offense, focusing instead on retooling the offensive line.

Meanwhile, get a sports psychologist, QB guru, whatever we need to see if Stroud is fixable. And then next year if we don’t see improvement, well then it is what it is and it’s time to look elsewhere for the future

  16. Ravens fan here. Your defense reminded me so much of the epic ravens D of years past….yet Stroud did everything in his power to end the season for them.

Please get a new QB…because before you know it…that defense is just a memory in the past. Ask me how I know. 🙁

  17. CJ better pay Stover for whatever money he’s going to miss out on for that injury, gosh dang man

  18. I know we didn’t have collins and schultz went down but:

    20/47 1td 4ints QBR:21.0

In a playoff game?! I mean come on, at the very least he’s incredibly unclutch and freezes like a scared bunny in big games and I’m not interested in us holding his hand.

He’s not even a good game manager. All we had to do was not turn the ball over and kick field goals and we could have won that game 100%

  19. He panics. He has zero poise or clutch awareness. His accuracy has diminished dramatically.

We’ve seen this for a few seasons now but I can understand wanting to give benefit of the doubt initially.

No more. This was a Super Bowl caliber defense w a relatively best chance for an actual Super Bowl appearance. Just average qb play and they probably advance.

Just inexcusable. Was hoping they put Mills in at halftime no idea why they didn’t.
