Hi all, deciding on tickets for the upcoming season and was curious how accurate this is. For reference I’m 5’8, I was wondering if row 1 seats in 400s would be obstructed like in the picture above.

Deciding between those and seats in 300s (2nd picture attached)

Around $500 difference. The 300s comes with access to Heineken Lounge and another I believe.

Thank you!

  1. For the most part, yes

If you’re in Row 1, you’d be leaning forward and looking over the fence. But when sitting back would be obstructed as shown.

I like the one on the first base side between the two because it’s at a much better angle IMO…

Generally I prefer sitting third base side so that I can see inside the home dugout, but there seems to be a big difference in closeness-to-the-plate between these two

  2. I would probably pick the 400s in the infield over the 300s in the outfield, but drop back to row 2 or 3 to avoid the railing view obstruction.

  3. Yeah row 1 in the 400 seats can be annoying because of the railing. If you’re on the end of the row you might be able to move your head to see through the glass area in the aisle but it’s not comfortable to do that.

  4. Sitting in the 1st row in the 400’s- the rail can get in the way. You can lean forward or shift to see thru the railing. I prefer the 2nd row- unless people in the first row lean forward- then their heads are in the way! But generally the 400’s are equivalent to the old mezzanine at Shea. They are good seats.
Seats in the 300’s are much better for a few reasons. You have access to the clubs you listed and 5th row back are covered if it’s raining(or it’s hot in the sun). It’s also generally less crowded at the concessions and rest rooms. Obviously that’s why they cost so much more.

  5. I’d recommend the second pic. Plus you might be far enough back to not be melting in the sun. Rows 1-3 are brutal, but depending on the section, from row 4 you’re more shaded.

And yes the bannister in pic 1 does obstruct the view if you’re leaned back in your seat. You have to kind of lean forward to see over it comfortably, or watch between the bars. It’s annoying. Unless you have a long torso.

If you’re buying season tickets, in the past that granted you access to the Heineken club regardless of where your seats are. Not sure if that’s still true.

  6. Just curious are you looking at seats for a ticket package or just to buy games here and there?

  7. The railing gives you the added benefit of not accidentally falling down a level to an untimely, albeit memorable, death.

  8. The sun is more annoying in the 400s than the railing. I like the 300s towards the back so you are covered from sun and rain.
