What you guys think of this trade

  1. i like it a lot. thought he was gonna get traded for a lot more honestly with the way the market seems to be and hearing those rumors of what Boston had on the table but those were unconfirmed. but it seems like he really wanted Vegas so that probably helped

i feel like with any given trade between any teams that’s made there’s always gonna be people from both fanbases involved including the outside fanbases (of course) that will be at either end of the spectrum on thinking it’s either a great trade or a bad trade. i’m personally on the great trade for us boat

  2. The biggest hole on the team was defense. They needed someone who can play top 4 minutes and Anderson can.

Theodore McNab, hanifin Anderson, sounds a lot better then replacing Anderson with lauzon-whitecloud-hutton-korczak or etc.

  3. While my flair feels personally attacked, I love rooting for a team that’s always willing to make moves. Never a boring off-season or TDL.

  4. Either way you have to appreciate the Knights office for being aggressive and going for it. I think playing the long game and being more strategic is good but it’s satisfying as a fan to know that the office wants to win.

A solid RD is like gold in this league.

It seems like Petro is done. I’d love to see him come back but I think the likelihood is that he doesn’t. Getting Rasmus to fill in is a necessity and with Petro on LTIR or retiring it gives them the space to sign Andersson.

It’s definitely a good pickup and he seems to like Vegas so resigning him could be possible.

With all that said, I don’t think it’s a good deal.

A rental usually goes for a 1st and a prospect in the market. The Knights gave up a first and second, potentially another 1st, Wiebe and Whitecloud. The catch on that is they can resign him which is a real possibility.

Resigning him is imperative because the Knights are not cup contenders and I doubt Andersson puts them over the hump. If they do that’s awesome but then they lose a first round pick. If you’re all in it’s great of course.

Again back to cap space, Rasmus will likely want 7.5-8.5. Assuming Petro stays out that is possible but it means the Knights are going to be spending half of their cap on 5 players.

They should be competitive for the next few years if they can resign Andersson but they lose so much ammo to rearm and pick up rentals to make a cup run in the future. Considering how they are one game over .500 right now it’s hard to see them turning into legit cup contenders.

Id rather seem them build up to being a solid all around 2nd round guarantee team and then using draft capital to make a push for the cup. This move seems like an all in just to get them to the second round.

  5. I would like it more if I thought a d was a bigger need. As it is they’re going to be committing more cap on a Rasmus extension that should have went towards an even strength goal scorer.

  6. Great player, raises the ceiling of the team, exactly what we needed.

Half retention means Kelly probably isn’t done, either. I think Connelly’s the last piece of ammo he has this season.

  7. Our defense has definitely been missing the offensive punch that near all the serious cup contenders these days have since Petro and Hague left and everyone had to step up one spot (or 2). Totally acceptable price to go for a high upside player

  8. Not happy about this. Three picks plus two players is way to healthy a basket to get Rasmus. I get he’s a great defender but I think so is whitecloud.

  9. While everyone here is saying Andersson is an improvement over Whitecloud, I’m somewhat skeptical.

I DEFO think Mcrimmon overpaid for him tho.

  10. Love this move and he will absolutely not be a rental. Rasmus will re-sign for us, we’re all he wanted and it’s been clear since last summer.

  11. I like adding Andersson, I just think Whitecloud wasn’t the dude who needed to go. Would have much rather see us keep Whitecloud and ship off Lauzon.

  12. I feel like the flames organization just hates their fans I don’t know anything about any of the players in this trade but none of the videos I’ve seen talking about this trade have been excited about it

  13. He’s a great player! His skills weren’t put to use. If he can control his temper on the ice, he will be great for the team. I love Whitecloud and this trade sucks

  14. I really liked James Neal, he ended up in Calgary.

I really like Whitecloud he ended up in Calgary.

I’m the problem, but I know we need defense so it’s a thing I can get behind.
