Canucks 10 Game Skid Nearing Team’s Longest Without a Win
The Canucks have had a miserable season, but at least the team is admitting the need for a rebuild…. mostly.

Yep trading Silovs and keeping Decrepit Demko was brilliant management thanks for ruining our team
I want the 3 pt system but it wont happen at least until Bettman retires Bettman wants to keep all teams in playoff hunt
When will the Caknuclejeads stop blaming Messier for everything?

Go canucks go
This is the best thing that could've happened to Vancouver this season imo
Messier era you had Mogilny, Bure, Linden, Naslund, Bertuzzi, Lumme, Ohlund. That team was stacked, had 100pt players, and they still couldn’t make the playoffs. Can’t compare them to this current talentless group. David Kampf is your 2C for heaven’s sake!
These veterns will eventually be gone they'll waive their no trade clauses
Already waiting for the Flyers video
The Gavin McKenna sweepstakes has a main contender.
I don't trust our management group to guide us properly through a rebuild, we've never been good at developing draft picks. I can also see it next year, just like you said….the team will show signs of improvement and they will abandon the rebuild completely for a chance to make the playoffs. I never thought I'd miss the days when Jim Benning was in charge
Keep tanking boys. Good job 👍
With all th guys who haven No Movement Clauses.
My question isn't how can you move them.
Its If any of them REALLY want to go at all.
Demko and Garland have recently said they still love the city and don't want to leave. I would not be surprised some of them refuse to move and their loyalty bites us in a sense.
Don't trade Elias petterson. He is dragging this team to the bottom. Right where we wanna be
The rebuild never ends
When the Canucks tied Dallas with 4 goals in the last minute and won in OT, that was the heart and soul, the magic that was. Their comebacks were outstanding. This management team kept sticking the dagger into the locker room until the blade broke. The player rifts were exacerbated by front office comments. Manny Malhotra should've been coach. What a drag for fans who pay $200 for a nosebleed seat, and the rest of us who suffer endlessly.
keep on losing , i hate this team more than any team in sports. hope they never ever win a game ever.
While I lived in Vancouver, 1997-98 has been the benchmark for the lowest point … And we're basically at that level … Ouch!
Hiring John Tortorella in 2013-2014 was the start of a long trajectory of mediocrity & the Canucks being unable to compete at an elite level for a sustainable amount of time. Torts is part of a LONG list of mistakes from ownership. The "Lost Decade" looks like it will continues for NHL fans living in Vancouver. (sigh)
I’m really hoping for that 1st overall pick this season and I’m not asking them to be a cup contender next season at all but I’m hoping to see a big improvement. I’d also like to give Petey another winger like mckenna or stenburg so we can see if he can really live up to his contract. If not I think that’s when they should move on from him if they can
Vancouver fans, you have 16 wins with 34 games remaining.
As bad as it gets this year, remember the 2019-20 Red Wings won only 17 games.
Not only will that not be your fate, you also can take solace in the fact that you can't fall three spots in the draft lottery this year, like we did after that most dismal of seasons.
In the second period I went to do the dishes and came back to see Edmonton had scored six.
And they'll still only get to pick 3rd overall
I love this tank, but they should get some win once in a while otherwise there will be a losing culture. Look how long it took Sabres to get it together….
I knew Demko was going to be injury-prone after they rushed him back for Round 1 versus the Predators. Canucks could have given Demko to Edmonton for a decent deal and maybe watched Demko win a cup. Instead we got Evander Kane and gave up a draft pick for the "privilege". Just Benning level asset management.
Guys the point of tanking is to trade out players and then suck. Not necessarily do the sucking first
Luongo was the only reason this team ever had a chance at a cup.
This is all an ownership/management problem. They have an owner who interferes; they have a head office which loves gimmicks. Do these non-hockey types like to "go with their gut" and it guts the team?
The bigger problem is that they do not seem to know what real on-ice talent looks like. If they have some talent in the roster they seem to squander it; maybe even ruin it. If they have money they overpay the wrong players, and yet act stingy with the right ones. Plus 1st round draft picks, cripes. This team has not picked in the single digits since 2018 and that was Quinn Hughes (most recent of the major talent the team narrative has been about in the past decade) . Since then the Canucks have either had shitty 1st round picks that are mid or worse or no first rounders at all. They acquire picks from trades like the Miller one, then immediately fob them off for questionable acquisitions. When I watch these THG updates from around the league, what always gets my goat is hearing how well players that the Canucks traded away have worked out great for other teams.
The Canucks are really making the case that the Whitecaps are now truly BC's #1 sports team.
Is EP40 a bust by now? It feels like his head is not in the game at all.
The islanders are on a double paddle watch
Woof…. Sorry expansion bros 😰
Feel like you overrate Boeser quite a bit. He's like Laine but with a worse shot
Several other videos have said it first but I’ll repeat:
Karma is a b*tch and the organization is paying the price for how they treated Bruce Boudreau.
I'm very pleased with the losing streak. Team Tank!
Team Tank bay bay
Someone tell Shannon that Detroit are also above the playoff line…
I can imagine Ottawa kicking tires on Lankinen and shipping out Merilainen/Sogaard to Vancouver. Not sure how Ottawa pulls it off with the salary cap being so tight but desperate times call for desperate trades
Cannucks have to get rid of that ugly fin the whale
Been a fan of the Canucks my whole life, wasn’t old enough to remember the 2010 run but all I ever remember about this team is sadness, and this year has to be the worst
🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙
surely it cant get any worse…
Nobody is used to Detroit being above the playoff line since even the Hockey Guy forgot lol
Wooooof, I’m optimistic about the future. We’ve got tickets to 5 Canucks games between now and the end of the year… wouldn’t mind seeing ONE win 😬
Kane is just horrendous.
They are trying to turn this around and sign on July 1st? No they are rebuilding and those are not the moves.
natural flow up and down ice, enjoy playing
I agree mostly with Shannon as usual but I think he is way off on how bad this compared to the Messier era (and also most Canucks fans).
This season is without a doubt on track to be the WORST season in franchise history. Despite all our complaining about "never getting the first pick overall" the Canucks have only finished dead last ONCE! And that was in their second season, so it was more excusable. Yes the Canucks have had dreadful seasons but I think if they finish dead last, then this season is the worst in my opinion.
Secondly – the Messier era. As bad as those seasons were they are nowhere near as hopeless as the current era. Think about it – in 97-98 the team was 4 years removed from a Stanley Cup final. Yes Messier represented the enemy but the core was stale and the Linden trade was a major win for the Canucks. Within a couple of years of the Messier team, the Canucks had the WCE and didn't look back.
Don't forget that the Messier teams still had a ton of talent but underachieved. Those teams had Bure, Mogilny, Naslund and Linden (who became Bertuzzi and McCabe). They had a lot of good pieces who were mostly underperforming.
Compare that to the current team. 15 years since a Stanley Cup final, 3 playoff appearances in the last 13 years, and no blue chip prospects (unless you include Buium).
Hopefully they land the top pick and turn a corner…. But right now it's quite low!
I have been asking for this for 12 years, let's fucking GO TEAM TANK
