Watching yesterday was like a car crash, couldn’t look away. Keeping CJ in while he was panicking, crying, and handing the ball over was brutal coaching. We don’t need a new QB; we have Mills. In 2025, he went 3-0 as starter with 5 TDs and only 1 INT (915 yards, 81.6 rating). Steady, low turnover play could’ve changed everything yesterday. Mills would’ve been the smarter move!

Absolutely. 100%. Without a doubt. We still had a chance to come back in the 2nd half, but the team was without hope knowing it was CJ under center. A change of scenery would’ve not only given us a more stable QB but also motivated the rest of the team.
Nah I’m glad they let CJ die on the field. Now we don’t have to worry about paying him and WAJ, and Ka’imi needs a bag.
I’m in no way defending CJ, but we had 7 rushing yards at halftime. Doesn’t matter who we had at QB, if you can’t run the ball, you don’t have a reliable passing game. All his turnovers were in the first half. Mills couldn’t have been worse but he wouldn’t have been any better than CJ’s 2nd half.
I disagree with your take on Mills. At this point, I don’t think he is any better than Stroud talent wise. I think Stroud’s problem is he is soft. I didn’t care that he cried when Tank got hurt. That was a brutal injury. I do care that he seems scared to run the ball. He panics when he’s under pressure. That concussion did more to him than rattle his brain. It made him afraid to take a hit and it’s effecting his ability to play the game. He’s damaged goods now. Time to look at free agency and the draft.
Mills didn’t really play good during the 3-0 stretch lol. He just didn’t play terrible. He wasn’t winning the second half especially with no running game and all the receiving threats being out

And it’s lucky to be 8, he played so badly the past two weeks he was on the verge of having 10 turnovers, not take aways great play defense.
Give aways, those INTs (one tipped) were bad throws, bad. The fumbles, were just as bad. When the pressure was applied and he needed to be a leader.

Stroud was horrific but he comes out after the half and gets down to their 15,when marks coughs it up. It all went wrong yesterday like literally almost nothing tilted in our favor
CJ isn’t some transcendent franchise guy that can shoulder the load along. Zero running game, weather an issue, Nico & Shultz out. It was such a bleak situation yesterday so much so idk if mills would have helped yesterday at all
I would have much preferred he played after the half. Not sure how much help he could have been playing at the half.
If we pay Stroud we are screwed, simple. We already are screwed with him but that would be putting nails in the coffin.

Mills is a good backup he isn’t the answer at QB. Would he have saved us against the Pats no one knows but the 3 games he played in wasn’t as impressive as people make it seem lol. We got into dogfight with the Titans, offense had like less than 75 yards in the second half against the Bills and he wasn’t very good for 3 quarters against the Jaguars.

The Texans game was arguably the worst playoff game this year so far. Any the Niners looked completely worn out.
He should have at least taken a drive or two to start, let CJ calm down a bit

CJ was fine after the half. If he played similarly in the 1st half we probably win that game. He was just so god awful the first half.
Josh Allen had a horrible game… it happens. I don’t think we need to hang him out to dry… not all his fault.
But yes, Mills coming to the game might’ve gave us all closure, but I am not convinced we would have won.
Disagree… he barely did enough to win us the three games he did. His stats were not the greatest those games; defense won us those games not Mills. He’s a god backup but that’s it.. don’t forget he was our starter before and played horribly
The pass rush was nigh omnipresent from New England. Mills wouldn’t have been able to handle the pressure. Keeping CJ in was the best move from a scoring perspective – he’s more mobile.
Just because CJ did bad doesn’t mean Mills would’ve came in and done better. Yes theoretically it can’t get worse than 4 interceptions but mills is still iffy. If you watched 2021-2022 you would understand why we even drafted CJ in the first place. You also can’t use a 3 game sample size and extend it out to the divisional round. Mills is a quality backup. Not a starting qb.
No nico, no Schultz, no run game, unfamiliar weather conditions. Not making excuses but that’s a lot to overcome. I don’t think Davis mills would’ve came in and done good enough to win us that game.
Bottom line is you don’t know ? Monday morning analyst always has the answer. I don’t think it would have hurt at all to try Mills. If you somehow win then you have a total mess on your hands !!!!!!
I don’t think mills wins us that game either, especially if the game goes the same way every other way like fumbles and the run game not working, and the defense giving up a uncharacteristic amount of tds. I understand why he was being considered but I don’t think it would’ve mattered much

You play Mills that means you are giving up on Stroud and telling the rest of the team the words of sticking by each other during rough times are hollow.
Not sure why people don’t understand this is not a Madden benching a starting player will cause friction from being able to use them again.
Can we stop with this narrative. I watched Davis Mills play this season and start two other seasons and he isn’t as good as CJ has been and can be. I saw Mills miss so many wide open throws THIS SEASON and if you are about to pay CJ this offseason then why would you pull him and create controversy in the locker room. This doesn’t make sense and needs to stop.
I thought he was below average all season long. He was outplayed by his backup in those 3 games. The offense moved better and it wasn’t just a field goal show like it has been for Stroud.

I was yelling at my tv to put Mills in during the Steelers game. Our boy was shook. This moment was too big for the young QB and it was obvious. Mills was the obvious choice when you just need a game manager who won’t turn the ball over
