Instead of a general salary cap it should be a free agent cap.
1)no cap or luxery tax for resigning players on your team spend whatever you want.
2) a cap on individual contracts and total free agent contracts that's based on the market. Something like 105% of the average for the top 5 players for individuals and 3-4x that for totals
3) a player has to be on your team for a minimum of three years before you can resign them and have the contract not count towards the free agent cap.
4) none of this deferral BS. For the cap it's the highest possible contract value decided by active years. Simple math. Ohtanis contract would count for 70 mil a year.
5)the cap is only for free agents for that season and any players who resign and who have not been on the team for at least 3 years.
Duran value is higher then Paredes.
Do not trade Perades period.

Jarren Duran has much more trade value than Paredes. You may have slight leverage but the Sox have other options.
