Why do Yankee fans think it helps to dog on these free agents by repeating over and over again that they aren't worth the money? Does that lessen the frustration level in some way? I don't get it. The explanation for what Cody is doing is so obvious, Joe. This is probably his last shot at earning a longer contract.
He'll be 31 in July, he doesn't seem to care about a deal that includes opt outs for an early departure. If that's what he was looking for I'm not sure he'd even choose the Yankees just like Kyle Tucker didn't choose the Mets despite them offering him the highest short term deal. You have to leave room for the possibility that NYY may not be his preferred destination. And the Yankees keep declaring that they're moving on from him. Then move the f_ck on and shut up about it. Good grief.
Bellinger best years are over. Yankees are offering him a good deal for a good but aging player.

Yankees should pull their offer. Bellinger is too greedy. Apparently he doesn't want to be a Yankee that much. He's running out of options. Blue Jays don't seem interested especially on a long term.
