I won’t be out on Stroud until he gets more than 2 years under one system, a stable o-line for more than one year, and continually fails in the playoffs. Remember he has more playoff wins than Watson did, and Manning didn’t win in the playoffs until his 6th season.

  1. Stop with this Manning comparison.

Stroud is not Manning. He doesn’t have the on and off the field awareness. And the league figured him out after his rookie season.

  2. He has to earn my love now. I been giving him the benefit of the doubt. If we lost yesterday but he had 2 TDs and 1 turnover I’d probably still be all in on him. But you can’t do that, while moping like that. I’d be more willing to support him if he crashed out. He just took it, like a bitch

  3. Give it up dude he’s regressing each passing year. He’s not a good QB and that’s that. We’ve seen so many one year wonders who’ve turned out to be nothing but bad/average

  4. CJ is like Framber mentally, but in this case we actually want him to hit his teammates in the chest with the ball.

  5. And yet there are plenty of QBs without any of that that look better than him out there right now. He looks absolutely terrified at times. He’s completely lost his nerve.

  6. Why are you comparing him to the other QBs? The only one you should be comparing him to is himself; i.e. did he make any progress or regress from the previous year or so…

  7. We will just keep firing OC’s and blaming them.

(Both have also sucked for what it’s worth, but CJ ain’t it.)

  8. We need to go for all running, CJ is not him and good WRs cost a bunch. Higgins will improve I’m sure as well.
The eagles won the superbowl with Jalen who isn’t really a great QB. Don’t get me wrong he is good but he isn’t winning that superbowl. His defense and running back did.

  9. its HOW he failed. thats not on the system or the line these last 2 games. its his DECISION in the MOMENT> s2 scores are right!@

  10. You had a once in a generation defense, a great special team unit with a consistent kicker, a better oline then last year. With the weakest afc competition and none of the quarter backs who had your number. Then went on to have a historically bad performance in Pittsburgh and then proceed to have an even worse performance in the biggest game of your career. Gave a hospital ball to your WR1 and threw a ball so bad that you tore your tight ends acl. Idk how people get so delusional but your rookie QB CJ stroud is gone. He’s not coming back. That being said we are stuck with him for now. Trading him just isn’t realistic.

  11. I don’t think you understand what happened during yesterdays game. We didn’t need him to put the team on his back we just needed him to not give the game away. If Stroud had let our defense and special teams do the heavy lifting and just managed the game then we’d be one game away from the superbowl.

  12. This is not a scheme or o line issue. He was missing guys wide open. It’s a between-the-ears issue.

  13. Cope. He clearly isnt that smart. He doesn’t understand his team at all. All he needs to do is put up 17 pts. He wants to throw the ball down field when that is the exact opposite of how this team works.

  14. You lose in the playoffs because your oline isnt great, and a lot of your offensive weapons are injured. Im ok with that.
You lose in the playoffs because you make incredibly bad decisions in back to back playoff games, which includes decisions that cause what offensive weapons you have left to get injured, and set records for fumbles, I am not ok with.

  15. Yes, let’s continue to waste time on a mediocre QB. I love this plan. Waste the great defense with a dude who can’t even be decent for an important game. No one was asking him to be great, just don’t lose the game for us. He proceeds to lose the game for us.

  16. System changes don’t make you pass the ball behind your receivers or throw 4 interceptions

  17. Peyton Manning had 4400 pass yards and 33 TDs in his first season, why are you comparing CJ to a goat lol

  18. He is NOT a leader !
In the Psychiatric world, he has a Flat Affect. No expression, doesn’t rally the troops. Looks like a discharge from the hospital in “One who flew over the cuckoo’s nest “

  19. Dude threw the ball straight into the air on 1st & 10 on thr Houston 25 for a pick 6 and its not his fault? Yeah fuckin right lmao

  20. CJ needs a mental conditioning coach now. His mental makeup has changed since the concussion and he’s afraid to run and is making more boneheaded decisions

  21. I’m not a Texans fan, so this is an outside opinion, but I feel like its too early to dump Stroud. Especially with how good he can be at times. Sure, he hasn’t hit the highs of his rookie season, but OP highlighted some of the reasons why that might be.

It’s so hard to find even a decent QB in the NFL, and they need the right people around them to develop properly. Look at Allen, it took him two or three seasons to get going. Sure, Stroud looked bad this weekend, but he was playing a really good defense that doesnt get the credit they deserve and those conditions are tough to play in. Doubly so if you’re used to a dome or are a warm weather team.

Entering the QB carousel is risky buisness, and hes still on his rookie contract (unless I’m mistaken). Bringing in a Vet will cost $$, and you may not get the upgrade you think you will, and drafting a guy means starting the develop process over again with a player that may end up being worse.

  22. Even when Stroud has protection he makes bad throws to open receivers. I’m out on CJ, if he can figure it out next year or the final year, assuming they pick up that 5th year option, maybe I’ll come back but he has not shown he is capable of being a good QB when things get tough.

  23. I have no problem bringing Stroud back, but WITHOUT an extension and WITH competition. We need a #2 QB that has potential to be a starter. Trade Mills if need be, but only if it’s a true upgrade at the #2 position.
