[Ira Winderman] An MRI on Heat guard Tyler Herro revealed a costochondral issue with his ribs, an ailment that often is a matter of pain tolerance, but can be highly painful, leaving his absence at the moment as undetermined. He is unlikely to rejoin the Heat during this five-game trip.

  1. Good lord man lmao. I will say that costochondritis is a bitch tho I must say. That shit comes and goes but nonetheless they need to do something with Tyler

  2. I said this after his second injury:

Tyler needs to come off the bench. He’s missed too many games, and I’m not in favor of constantly disrupting the lineup for a player who’s in and out of availability.

This time (third injury), it also gives Spo a legitimate reason to move him to the second unit without worrying about hurting his feelings.

  3. At least nothing is broken. He’ll be back soon. I’m just glad it wasn’t anything major. Tyler is as tough as they come so I’m guessing he’ll play as much as he can.

  4. This shit is just sad. I’m not that high on him but I want to at least see him get a chance to change my mind.

  5. Sounds like if it was the playoffs he’d play but for now theyre just being cautious

  6. The Heat have been hit with some painful injuries this season. Some of the worst injuries to deal with are your toe, back, and ribs. Toe injury can make it hard to walk and cut. Back injuries affect everything. Even sitting down and standing up can be excruciating. Rib injuries are tough too. If you’ve ever bruised or hurt your ribs, you can’t take a deep breath without pain. It’s absolutely miserable.

  7. Yeahhh….i like Herro but resigning him to a long term deal is looking like it could be a mistake.

  8. I love Tyler and he’s the only one that actually adds flair to the Heat but bro is fragile asf. It’s alway something with bro. But then again, this organization has jumped the shark with this front office. Incredibly inept and docile.

  9. This means that Kas will get an extreme amount of opportunities that Spolestra wouldn’t have easily given him.

  10. Well… Tyler gets no real extension this year. Perhaps a 2 year deal at a reasonable figure for NBA millionaires.

  11. This dude in his mid twenties getting injuries like he’s been in the league 20 years. The FO usually isn’t proactive but it’s time to get active and start thinking about trading him. This his last year in his deal, we’re not giving him major money and you don’t want to him to walk for nothing. Go ahead and see what you can get and call it a day

  12. This dude is the fucking G.O.A.T , got a bad bitch , got paid and called it a career in Miami. The Heat have has basically $54M in dead money

  13. Im a Herro fan and I’ve been against trading him in pretty much all scenarios, but this is getting ridiculous. I dont know if it’s bad luck or whatever but the lack of availability is a problem

  14. I honestly don’t feel like an extension should even be a consideration at this point, unless it’s on the level of a good bench player. You can’t pay starter money to someone who never plays and who has had a debatable impact on winning his entire career. He’s a tremendously talented offensive player, but that’s not enough.

  15. In hindsight if the Mavs knew that AD would be missing all the games he has due to injuries they wouldn’t have traded Doncic to the Lakers for him. I see Herro becoming a liability in the trade market

  16. This sucks so much if we don’t see Herro play for for us again I wanna say you were great 14 and you made me root for you heavy last season.
