Before everyone freaks out. This was always going to happen because his current deal would pay him $15 mill next year and there was never a snowballs chance in hell that was gonna happen

This was expected. We weren’t going to pay him 15 million for next year but we kicked the tires on him and have first dibs on his services for next year
For anyone that is worried this saves 15 million and doesn’t mean we don’t bring him back on a new deal. I think you take him and do what we did least to show him how it is like here. Largely because Green Bay has never been a great Free Agent landing spot.

Next will be Jenkins and Gary. I know it’s a business, but I feel a bit for Jenkins – kinda got screwed over on the forced move to center, breaks his leg, and then gets cut. Gary, on the other hand, played like ass after Parsons arrived (which makes no sense whatsoever – should have been a boon for him).
Considering how thin GB is at CB, I’m going to assume they wanted him to restructure for significantly less and he said no so they said go test the market
This was always going to happen he had no guarantees left in his deal so he could be cut anytime and the packers were never going to pay him $20M a year when he’s been hurt for most of the last 2 years. Diggs will go to free agency and will get a 1 year prove it deal. Depending on what he gets offered and if the packers can offer something similar determines if he’s back or not.
I honestly thought we would restructure.
