Well Yeah, his last agent let him get screwed by the Leafs time and time again. Although, Robertson been great this year!

  1. I kinda feel bad for the guy, he is getting screwed by the RFA system. He’d probably have had better development on a different team where he could have solid top 6 minutes.

  2. Man’s can’t wait to be a UFA so he can run and do exactly the same thing he is doing here elsewhere

  3. I think Robertson has definitely benefitted this year from having consistent minutes on a solid 3rd line.

A question the Leafs will have to make is if they “sell high” on his value to recoup draft capital or to give him a 2-3 year bridge deal. The issue is if they think they can transition him to the 2nd line next year and if they think he’ll stay as a 3rd liner, they’ll probably be better suited trading him to a team that can put him on the 2nd line. Important to consider Cowan and his development too which will pit Nick and Cowan against each other for what is essentially the same winger slot.

It’s too early in the season to give an analysis of UFA wingers for the coming offseason.

  4. > “Preferably, you want a multi-year deal that works for you and obviously the right number. But when that time comes, the price has to be right. Everything has to be in motion,” Nick said.

    > “Ideally, I don’t want to be one-year deals the rest of my career, yeah. So, we’re gonna have to kind of look into that in the future. But right now, I gotta do what I can to put myself in a good position in that area and help the team.”

There is an opportunity here – players want stability and security, and we’re the only team that can give him that for the next few years. A deal that buys some UFA years could be great for us.

  5. I really hope we resign him. I want to buy his jersey but don’t want him to sign with another team right after

  6. Time and time again i’ve been a Nicky bobby defender and supporter lol. I feel he’s good for the team.
