On Wilde & Tausch, the guys break down why Leonhard is such a popular candidate among Packers and Badgers fans, his current role with the Denver Broncos, and what would need to happen for Green Bay to land him. From his ability to develop and maximize talent, to his schematic strengths at Wisconsin, to the question of whether Matt LaFleur would revisit a past snub, nothing is off the table.

Is Jim Leonhard the best possible fit to lead the Packers defense forward — or just one of many strong options?

🎙️ Honest debate, real numbers, and inside context on where the Packers may turn next.

  1. I read a couple articles on Jim Leonard saying that he wasn't against coming to the pack… It was that he thought he'd be the head coach for the Badgers and would be there a long time… I wouldn't be mad at the pack getting him for sure.. GO PACK GO

  2. I don't know enough to know whom would make a great DC but I know who won't be good here and I hope we stay away from Morris now that I say that he will be the guy. I wanted LeFluer gone and he is still here, I didn't want Hafley and we took him. So I do not want to say who I want. The Packers seem to watch my threads because they always go opposite of what I asked.

  3. Matt has to change the label as a player's coach and reset his culture starting with the offseason and calling a meeting of all the players that are returning and getting it out there and let them know way the new culture and recognition from the league that they are going to be defined as a team and every player from top to bottom will be held accountable for any lack of effort and not putting the team success first and if they want to go ahead and start looking for someone else

  4. He needs to bring in a few vets that are high IQ proven stability and can have the respect to call out the younger players in the locker room as well as a veteran linebacker and have the same direction from his staff and lead with no second-guessing and put the Super Bowl at the only goal no feeling sorry for team injuries.. start calling out the reason that the team lost the game as a group of that position though not a single person but the whole group and that part of the team must get better or they will not reach their goal because of that group..that's why I think Raheem Morris would have been a a awesome addition with the experience and the process of what it takes and how you have to practice better than every other team to be the best and he could be the one that Matt has in his ear to let him know who will not be up to standard for a real Super Bowl run

  5. I guess i'm in the minority here but i honestly just don't see all the hype with this guy. There's plenty of qualified candidates on the list way more as long as they bring an aggressive mentality to the defense (something ironically the HC clearly doesn't and will never possess)

  6. I'd rather see Morris or Flores over Leonard. I know Wisconsin fans think he walks on water, but the other 2 are established NFL DCs with NFL bonafides. But Leonard had done a good job in Denver.

  7. All I can say is I remember watching the Badgers defenses that were playing almost beyond their talent level under Jim Leonhard’s tutelage. He would be my top choice bar none.

The thing I remember most was how close he would play to the line and blitz from an array of different positions but still never give up big plays. He’s a defensive genius in my opinion.

  8. So I didn’t know leonard was in Denver so yeah he ain’t leaving Denver and Peyton if he turned down packers before! So why is no one talking about al Harris??? I think that’s really the best option because everywhere she’s been cb coach they have excelled and he’s Green Bay vet and corner is our weakest spot!!! I really really like al Harris!! That my hope since Leonard ain’t gonna happen if Leonard will come then yeah he’s the top option I think but let’s be honest how often does Green Bay go out and get the top potion for things???

  9. Jim Leonard would be a very good choice. I was hoping the Packers would get him last time. I believe Leonard likes bigger on the Defensive line with quick linebackers.
The Packers need to get some Monsters on the Defensive Line. They have the speed at linebacker. Parsons can play anything anywhere.
Big men on the line with the bullet in the background.

  10. By the end of the year the Defense sucked ….”a little bit of a pass”? Really …25 point given up in the 4th quarter of a playoff game …”a little bit of a pass “…really please stop..Hafley sucked ….and you guys plaese stop … that fact that LaFool is still our coach coach is. A joke

  11. Hafley doesn't get a pass on the Ravens ass kicking nor the 25 point surrender to the Bears in the 4th quarter, nor should he. If he would've stayed, fine, but it doesn't bother me at all that he's in Miami now. Leonhard would be a good choice, as well as Morris or Flores (probably not a possibility). I'd rather not see an ex-Packer player get the job.

  12. If Leonard was hired, how long would it take for people to start clamoring for Leonard to be HC? Avoid drama, people love it too much 😂
