Luke is brilliant, no doubt, but shouldn’t he start off as LB coach before jumping into a full DC role?
Dont think he has any interest tbh
i feel like if he wanted to he would be on a coaching staff already
Eh, I love Luke. His ability to see where the play was going was insane. That said, doesn’t mean that he’d be able to translate that into coaching. He might, but I think the assumption that genius linebacker = genius DC is pretty flawed. And he hasn’t done any coaching after retiring, has he? Think he helped us scout a few years, but to take a guy with no coaching experience and expect him to be a DC right out the gate seems like a stretch.
Luuuuuuuke!
Would be awesome from a fan standpoint, but just bc you were an all time great player, doesn’t mean he will make a great coach. If anything it may be difficult for him bc no player he coaches will see and understand the things the way he does.
Luke is currently the DC for Charlotte Christian School, so he’d have to be lured away with a big payday.
Best players don’t typically make for particularly good coaches. Luke is amazing though and I wouldn’t be mad if they tried him out for shits and gigs.
I could see a Ron Rivera -like career arc if he wants it. The way guys used to talk about Luke calling out plays at the line leads me to believe he could be very successful.
Keep dreaming. He doesn’t want to coach professionally.
It’s already been confirmed that Evero it’s definitely coming back for the 2026 season and his contract has been extended to after the 2027 season.
I mean, Luke is awesome, but his highest level of coaching is middle school defensive coordinator lol
Michael Jordan was the greatest player ever, he’s gotta be the greatest owner ever, right
Dude wants to fish, coach middle school football, and call games.
Much more important stuff.
I need that brotha out asap!!
I feel like it’s an inevitable destiny for him but I understand him not wanting to jump the gun quite yet
Luke is exactly where he wants to be, and having him around in a non-coaching role is best for the team. You don’t want bitterness or strained relationships between the organization and its legends.
Do you guys really live in fantasy land?
I have seen Luke Kuechly suggested for HC/GM/DC.
What next Luke buys the team?
Raheem Morris will be our DC if evero leaves
You also have to wonder if his brilliance would cause a disconnect. Could you imagine him knowing what play was coming as the DC (which he would) and then watching your signal caller be clueless? Its not like hes gonna find the next him to be on the field. He’d be helpless to watch the future unfold as he didn’t have the power to stop it.
I dont think he’s interested.
But if he ever changes his mind, Tepper needs to give that man whatever he wants in order to never let another team even have a sniff at him.
Evero ain’t leaving, no team is offering him a HC job.
Luke’s former coach Sean McDermott?!
I would die for this hire! Dream come true. I dont think he would do it though.
I would bet there’s not much of a gap in the money between “radio guy” and “NFL position coach”, and one probably requires 5x the work of the other.
Im sure as long as that Panthers radio network check keeps clearing the bank, he’s in no hurry to re-entering the coaching realm.
Does he have much coaching experience?
I’d probably bust
I hope someone hires Evero. C’mon Kuechly
If you’ve ever listened to Luke on the radio broadcast, he’d be perfect calling the defensive plays.
He’s Adrew Luck without the hard feelings. We should be thankful for that. Kuechly gave us everything he could. Now he’s rich and enjoys life. Invite him to pound the drum every few years and retire his jersey when he makes the Hall of Fame. He doesn’t owe us anything anymore. And that’s fine.
