Utley and Felix are totally gonna get in eventually

I know it passes the threshold but 78.4% seems low

Geez, a 25.5% jump in one year for Felix. I wonder where that stands all time in single year percentage jumps. That’s gotta be up there
Also wow Pettitte in one year went from pretty much no shot before his time was up, to now year 9 and 10 he could do it
These classes get weaker and weaker every year.
I was getting ready to come in here and bitch about Andruw Jones but I looked up his baseball reference first. 10 gold gloves. Fine.
Means nothing until Bonds and Clemens get in
I’m bias but I like to see Carlos Beltran in, he is from my hometown.
Happy for Beltran and Andruw
Felix Hernandez got it next year
Both absolutely worthy to be in. It’s a shame that it took this long for Jones, but defense is so often overlooked by the Hall.
Beltran probably would have been a first ballot of not for the Houston stuff.
Though he was never getting in, I am surprised that Braun got less than 5% and will fall off. In fact only 1 new player will be on the ballot next year (Hamels).
What’s it take to get in? 80?
Andruw Jones was the worst player to ever put on a Dodgers uniform. He wasn’t even old. He just sucked balls that year.
The fact that Pettite got more votes than King Felix is just a reminder to me that baseball writers are actually very poorly informed about baseball.
Edit: Not sure why I’m down voted. If anyone can give me valid reasons that Pettite is better than King Felix, I challenge you to do so.

Agree to disagree. I guess I like my HOF to be more exclusive. If Jones is such a great player and best CF of all time people say. Then why didn’t he get in the first year he was eligible?

With Lester and Posey being the only guys coming onto the ballot next year with any shot, it’ll be interesting to see how much of a bump King Felix gets. I really don’t want Utley or Pettite to get in since neither really feels like a HOFer, but they’re trending that way. Then in 2028 we get Pujols, Cano and Yadi who should all be first ballot guys. Then we get Grienke and Miggy with Nelson Cruz and Joey Votto. If Pettite and Utley don’t get in next year, I’m not sure they ever make it. Though it looks like Utley will eventually. I just don’t think he belongs since he’s basically a poor man’s Jeff Kent with the only advantage over Kent being on the defensive side.

So I suppose Beltran getting in means Altuve is a lock.
Boggles my mind how ped’s are such a no-no for the hall but stealing signs to win a World Series in 7 games is glossed over so easily
