Really been loading up on catchers this offseason.
[Nate Baez](https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=baez–000nat) batted .278/.371/.423/.794 last year with 8 HR in 96 games between A+/AA. 2026 will be his age 25 season. For a team really lacking in organizational catching depth this seems to be a very solid pickup for a guy who was getting DFA’d anyway.

League’s fucked.
Imagine being the guys in this trade and being reported on like this
His 2022 draft profile:
* Drafted in the 12th round (354th overall) by the Minnesota Twins in 2022 (signed for $125,000).View Draft Report A 6-foot-1, 191-pound super utility type, Baez has played all over the diamond for Arizona State including every infield position other than shortstop and left field. That defensive versatility will drive most of Baez’s value, as his tools are below average outside of his hit and power. He is a fringy hitter who is coming off a career year where he slashed .319/.403/.562 with 10 home runs and 21 doubles. Baez is a well below-average runner, but that won’t be a problem if much of his time is spent behind the plate or on the corner
This is just making room for Ranger on the 40-man. Craig has consistently been really good at getting assets for guys who were getting DFA’d, it’s already paid off once with the Cam Booser trade.
They’re calling it one of the trades of all time.
So ends the stint of Red Sox Legend Tristan Gray
November 18, 2025 – January 21, 2026
Well done
That move absolutely puts the Sox in the drivers seat. Nice job Breslow….
Now we go!
Does every team get passan tweets for these types of trades? Or is bres just the only gm making them
I can’t believe we just gave up this guy I didn’t know existed
