You’d think our records were reversed

  1. The Bills situation feels kinda similar to the Giants driving out Coughlin which started our dark age. I hope it doesn’t go that way because I would like to see Allen get a ring, but what a mess. I can’t see them finding a better coach than McDermott in this current HC cycle.

  2. That press conference today was *crazy*. I have my qualms with Mara but holy shit, compared to Pegula I have no complaints, what a doofus that guy is.

  3. The Bills’ problem is that they should’ve fired both of them. I understand firing McDermott — even if I don’t agree with it. At some point, you just need a change of scenery.

However, not firing Beane is borderline malpractice. He’s somehow got an undisputed top 5 QB in the league and managed to build a roster that is over the cap, thin as hell, and has failed to advance to the super bowl in eight seasons at the helm.

Side note: he’s also from the Dave Gettleman tree of influence — aka got lucky that one time in Carolina.

  4. The Giants have a clear direction and a young promising QB; conversely the Bills are rudderless and have a QB in his prime but who also isn’t getting any younger. The next 5 years for the Bills will be critical and if they fumble this they might need to completely start their QB search again.

  5. Until they have a coach, I really think the Bills are in a bad situation. Right now it looks like a crazy FO. Josh Allen is now in the second half of his career (if he is lucky), and the Bills need some upgrades. That is a really tough situation for a team that should be a Super Bowl contender.

We have a bunch of young players that look promising, and our expectations are not the same. If we win a play off game, and have a respectable playoff exit… our fan base will be beaming.

  6. I’m surprised at some of the comments here. Bills have been ramming their head into the same wall over and over again for 7 straight years with the same coach and team. Something needed to change for them. Josh is going to be 30 next year and their SB window is getting smaller if anything.

Comparing that to Coughlin/Eli they won it in their 4th year together when Eli was 27.

  7. I wonder if Harbaugh would’ve preferred the Bills over the Giants if negotiations stretched past Saturday and into Monday. Guess we’ll never know
