Random thought. Am I the only one who totally forgot about Diontae Johnson? He’s only a couple years removed from putting up 1,161 yards in a season with us.

  1. Think the league has forgot about him. He’s just another problematic receiver we’ve had the league has moved on from already

  2. Nah, I ain’t gonna let yall call GP a problem and say good riddance all year to let you say shit about bringing Diontae back. Absolutely not.

  3. He’s a bigger head case than he is talented.

Sucks to see him go like he did though. Dude had some real talent

  4. It’s so weird to see him like this, he was one of the best route runners in the game. He was always open, so either we were driving these dudes off the deep end or we drafted some dudes with huge character flaws and were Tomlin fix this.

  5. Wasn’t that the dude who always ran backwards after the (infrequently made) catch?

  6. We all forgot about him for good reason. The Steelers aren’t the only org who figured out the juice ain’t worth the squeeze with DJ

  7. He’s 29, been on like 1/4 of the teams, didn’t have a team this season and in 2024 had 2 catches but was a drama factory for reporters (it’s a bleak quick google). The league didn’t forget about him they just moved on. On a personal level I hope all is good with the guy. Something had to be mixed up to fumble the bag on multiple contract years.

  8. Yeah probably. I’ll never forget that clown. Diontae Dropson. And when he did catch it, he’d run the wrong direction for 7-10 yards. Weird dude.

  9. His career irrelevance is his fault, but damn if he got shjt luck in those crucial first couple of years. Got one full game with a functional Big Ben and scrubs for OC’s

  10. It’s crazy how people want out but the fall flat on their faces when they don’t have a leader to lead them.

  11. Actually insane how bad he fell off once he left the Steelers. Tomlin is truly one of a kind in terms of player management

  12. I’ve never seen a player drop so many footballs than this guy. And then IF he did catch it, he’d run back a few yards. I cheered when he left our team

  13. Just another guy Ben was able to elevate and turned out was not that good/couldn’t keep it together off the field

  14. Thats my bad I dropped the ball on posting about him, surely he will forgive me though, since it’d be really hypocritical if he didn’t

  15. Our WR core was pretty solid when it was him and Pickens… at least the best it has been since the Juju/AB days

  16. He drank from the Steeler wide receiver room punch bowl…It only takes a few years for the brain worm to take complete control 🤣🤣🤣

  17. It’s hilarious how stupid these guys are, could’ve had millions for a decade, can’t get out of his own way.

  18. Bad attitude aside, we could’ve really used a guy like Diontae this year. Good route runner and some after the catch agility. He fell off hard

  19. He was fun to watch. Great route runner. Inexplicably forgot how to run as soon as he got the ball. Often did not get said ball in the first place due to cement hands. All-time dumbass.

  20. Last was heard he was on the sidelines on the ravens. Harbaugh told him to go in he refused. He was then cut from the ravens his career is over. Talent athletic major attitude when he’s not the main attraction.

  21. A couple of years ago I was watching QB highlights from the Duck season. And man, Diontae could ball.

Then he got the dropskies in the 11-0 season and couldn’t ever recover

  22. I remember him as being the typical diva receiver who thought the grass was better on the other side

  23. Perfect example of why it’s not always smart to bet on yourself. He tried it and it was a baddd bet.

  24. When he was good, he was good. other than that. He was definitely totally forgettable.

  25. What hurts most is the guy we got in exchange for him had a really good season for the Chargers.

  26. If he chilled out a bit on the attitude he could’ve been a solid WR2, or a WR3 in an amazing WR room.
