  1. How did we not having any conversation about restructering goff and Sewells contract? That alone will free up 40-45 million.
They will still have Gibbs and Campbell extension possibly this year and the draft class which leaves them before any veteran trades or cuts 15-25 million, depending on the salary cap increase.
They aren't in this crazy cap hell everyone thinks.
Also no talk about how friendly hutches contract is, he's a cap hit of 10 this year 16, then 21, then it balloons.
    Brad is doing this right.

  2. The problem is we have amateurs trying to understand how salary caps work.
Spotrac had a write up where the Lions can free up close to 80 million in cap by restructuring. Before I hear the crying about "kicking it down the road", are you one of the fans saying why can't the Lions do what the Eagles and other contending teams do because this is what contending teams do.
They don't have to spend every penny, but they sure can afford Anzalone and get some OL and DL.

  3. Brad screwed up again with the "Over Run The Play Man" Barnes. Anzo was a hell of a better player than 55. Brad is like Campbell, too many chancey draft picks.

  4. Lions need to draft DE/LB first round and an OT second round. Flip Peneii to LT. Sign vet C in free agency. Cut Kirby Joseph and sign a mid-level Safety + hope Dan Jackson comes back ready.

  5. Anzo can be let go if we can't get him for a good price. He already held out a bit last year to get a better contract and then once he got a few incentives added he came back to practice. Now he's looking for his final big contract and I don't think we should be giving it to him, at least not some crazy big one. For the right price I'd like him to be here butt he isn't our top lb that's mcjc, so if he wants big money hopefully he can get it somewhere butt it shouldn't be here
