[Dulac] “Nate Scheelhaase had a very impressive first interview with the Steelers. With some in the building saying that he reminded them of Mike Tomlin”

  1. Which parts of Tomlin are we talking about?

Hopefully just in terms of personality, which I see as a plus. He was always a good mentor to the players and they loved him, I hope our next coach lives up to that.

  2. I’m down with him or Shula. I think both of them have the makings of a good leader as long as they know how to hire good assistants.

  3. Can’t wait for the geniuses who think that exhibiting similar qualities in a virtual interview to a coach a who won 193 regular season games and a Super Bowl is somehow a negative.

  4. He’s been my favorite for the job since the beginning. Young, McVay disciple – given that there hadn’t been much smoke since his initial interview I had started losing hope so this is a good sign. I’ve come around on the idea of Shula, but really think offensive side is the smart play in today’s world.

  5. Damn I read hes a finalist for the Browns job too, going to be sad if they actually get a good young coach.

  6. He wasn’t originally my first choice, but if it stops the McCarthy momentum I’ll take it.

Still prefer Shula but honestly any young coach with a lot of potential from a smart coaching tree is all I want.

  7. I’d be happy with Shula, but I do really want an offensive guy after what I’ve had to watch the last couple years.

  8. Scheelhaase would fit perfectly into that young coordinator nobody was even thinking about 6 months ago hire

  9. NFL is about scoring points and doing so quickly. If we can get an offensive super dude, I’m all for that. We’ve been tortured with trash offense for years. Need some more creativity! And use the MOF, FFS!

  10. Not sure what’s funnier — that Google Translate says “Scheelhaase” means “squint” in Dutch and the former coach had an obsession with blinking.

    –OR–

That Scheelhaase is apparently pronounced “Scheel-house” even though it’s spelled exactly the way it would be pronounced in Pittsburghese.

  11. Dulac works for the Steelers. He’s literally their mouthpiece. It’s why I don’t trust him when it comes to being critical of this club as he’s severely compromised

It’s also why I ABSOLUTELY believe this piece of information because if they’d want any information out for public consumption, it would be via Dulac

  12. This is who I want. Pair him with Raheem Morris or Sean McDermott as DC and I’ll be thrilled.
