I don’t know what you expected of him? This is a team that would be roughly fourth in the east with Trae and Porzingis healthy. Risacher has been out as well. They weren’t true contenders in the eastern conference prior to injuries.
Getting a new coach might help but it won’t fundamentally fix the problems. Ownership needs to hire the right people and then stay out of the way and be willing to spend more once the roster warrants it. Again, they need the right front office people. Schlenk on down have been bad despite him being celebrated and the general support for Fields.
The Hawks are now in a balancing act because there shouldn’t be high expectations right now and replacing Snyder wouldn’t magically heal Risacher or make Kristaps not chronically sick and injured. NAW was a good signing but the Hawks will have to bide their time if more such signings are not available. The Hawks need more draft picks and should still be in asset collection mode but fans don’t want to trade players away and they don’t want to be patient with draft picks either.
