Who says no? Warriors picks are valuable when Curry retires, Warriors need a centre. This is kind of a desperate attempt at a championship ultising Curry's last years, and Mavs get a rebuild and some young-ish players that fit around Coops timeline. Is this a good trade or is this a nico trade?

Edit: What would the trade look like if the 2026 pick was taken out?

  1. i just really really struggle to see a world where the warriors give up that much draft capital for AD unless steph is putting on massive pressure on the front office to do *anything* or trade him.

like you rip their hand off if they offer you 3 picks but idk i doubt it

  2. Warriors aren’t trading firsts anymore unless it’s like 1frp for Giannis.

They’d rather waste Curry’s last years than give away their future after him

  3. This trade is really nothing to do with AD, the value on both sides is the warriors get off jimmy and get gaff and naji while the mavs get a first for each of those things.

  4. This strikes me as a dumb deal for both teams. The move basically does nothing for our cap situation at all. In fact, it slightly makes it worse unless you just cut Kuminga at the start of the summer.

On top of that, you’re moving out basically the two most tradable assets while managing to guarantee basically the exact amount against the cap just keeping AD would.

Yeah, the picks are nice, but cap wise, you’ve made things worse in a hypothetical AD deal which is kind of amazing really.

From the Warriors perspective, you’re trading for Naji and two centers who don’t really help you win now cause they’re both hurt. They need a more dramatic swing if they’re gonna trade those picks.

  5. Golden State ain’t doing this unless Nico kidnaps Mike Dunleavy and switches brains with him

  6. If I’m the Mavs, I do the deal for the players alone.  If Dubs throw in a swap or two, it’s gravy.  Good trade, both sides.
