I wonder what the chemistry would have been like on the ice between Hawerchuk and Selanne had they kept him. Alas, we will never know.

They were unsuccessful in trying to trade up for him but Brian Burke would end up trading for May three times (1998, 2003, 2007). Burke/May would win a Cup together in that last run in Anaheim.
