Shooting over 45% from the field, over 51% from 3 in the month of January, very limited turnovers, (with the exception of the Detroit game) and although his 19 points last night were great, 1/10 versus Miami he clocked 13/9/4 with 4 steals and a block. Not saying he’s going to be a superstar, but with how inexpensive his contract is, and with continued positive development, I think it would be silly to add him into any trade talks at this juncture.

I think he’s been playing better since he eschewed the headband.
I think the issue with Jarace is that he’s a DECENT player but not who we imagined when we got him. His ceiling was this defensive powerhouse that could spread the floor.
Instead, he’s a step slow defensively with a streaky output
Im a big Jarace coper I feel like he will become the player we need him to be soon
Yeah, still not super high on him, but I think we should also remember this is his first season playing real minutes
There’s nothing to admit, sadly. Let’s see some consistency, especially on the decision making side.
I’m all for the development train and being patient. His jumper being farther along then we thought should’ve automatically given him grace from everyone as a super young project pick. His eventual judgement day is when Pascal starts to decline or a no brainer trade target becomes available
There is no reason not to keep giving him minutes this season, still young
Keep playing him 25 min a game, extend him and lock him in for cheap, morph him into the type of role player we need on this team. He’ll be even better next year when he’s asked to do even less. There’s still reason to believe he can develop and be an additive player
I think he’s fine as a SF/PF combo off the bench. I’m just not sold on him ever being a long-term starter. If they end up with Dybantsa or Wilson in the draft how days as a Pacer will be numbered.
This is only happening because Obi is injured. I think once his minutes come more as a wing and less as a big we will see lots of his “warts” resurface. He never got a fair shake here at his natural position, so my position is that I hope we can show another team that he’s valuable and it’s a win-win trade for us, him, and his new team.
I still believe in Jarace.
No
His BBIQ isn’t there. Change of scenery might help but I don’t think he ever puts it together
I like a lot of his skill sets as a connector
With that said, he’s not really in a defined role like we would plug a system player into. Like not a three and d guy, not a movement shooter, etc. He’s just pretty good at a wide variety of skills which make it hard to play him for a specific purpose.
I had very high hopes for Jarace this season and haven’t given up on him primarily because he has looked much better in the previous season. There was no obvious reason he would suddenly become a worse player or couldn’t get back on the right track. I think he was trying to force things too much instead of just playing his game.

He is supremely talented. He has been shooting lights out and playing with a lot more force over the last two weeks. Needs to work on his dribbling and footwork and he still has some bonehead plays but the potential is there.
I think he can (and should) be a crucial piece when we get a healthy (and swole!) Hali back.
….and whoever we wind up drafting!
My only hope for him is that he can be a back up 3/4 so we can use obi to get off salary/match salary in a trade without tanking the bench.
I have no faith he will ever start in this leauge.
I think he can be a solid 3 and D bench guy. I don’t know if he’ll ever be the point forward the coaching staff seemed to want him to be, but if he can shoot >40% from three he’ll have a long nba career.
He’s always had potential. I don’t think many deny that. The issue is that he’s never really gotten close to realizing that potential. And while I know he’s young, he’s had ample opportunity to prove himself this year and he just hasn’t. And not just in the “he’s making young guy mistakes” way, but more in the “this guy isn’t worth playing at times” way.
He’s played better recently, so let’s see if he can build off of that. I just want to see him consistently do it and show that there’s a consistent role for him. Sp far it’s been such small glimpses that it’s hard to buy in on the guy.
Good trade piece nothing more, he can go try to develop somewhere else
It used to be common place and acceptable for dudes to take more than 2 seasons to figure it out.
Some guys blossom after grinding out 5+ years in the league.
Turns out getting game reps does help
No
When the squad is fully healthy (and seriously competing), where in the rotation does Jarace get minutes? How many minutes? Does his contribution make sense at his cap hit.
I have to be honest, I don’t see him worth the $8.5 million cap hit he’s bringing next year especially when we’re looking at the prospect of losing a better wing player in Mathurin and needing to devote real dollars to the center position.
I like Jarace and acknowledge he is still so young, but with our team set up the way it is right now we can’t afford to pay a player based on potential or have a guy who’s angry about playing time. If he’s willing to take 10 mil/year and be a bench guy I think he will continue to develop nicely. If he wants 15-20m+ it’d be better to trade him now
Nah trade him
We missed him in the OKC finals as another big who could guard Chet, after Myles gave out after a few games. He’s simply has physical attributes you can’t teach. I think he will be better, but certainly not an all star.
