Texans-Patriots was the most watched event in ESPN history
January 22, 2026
I think we had a game last year versus the Chiefs that also had a very impressive viewership level. I think people want to see the Texans win big games.

So ESPNs most viewed event ever was CJ Stroud’s WORST game ever?
As if the embarrassement cant be more embarrasing.
Not surprising, it’s an NFL playoff game after all. Just a shame so many people saw us shit the bed…again.
No wonder there are so many pitchforks for CJ. People really had high hopes.
Also, dynasties are not good for ratings. New playoff teams every year is more fun and engaging.
Now looking at it they have not hosted much playoff games so we may not hold the record long but it’s still cool. The viewership is across all sports supposedly not just football.

Our shame…
Looks like everyone likes it when the Chiefs aren’t in the playoffs.
this is Aggie level cringe
Damn CJ.
The hatred for Patriots still runs deep and people really wanted to see Texans beating them in their own stadium. I had people from several fan bases messaging me and telling me as much. Oh well.
And Cj displayed an absolute stinker
cool but also mortifying to know so many ppl saw us fall flat on our face
nice, the whole world watched. sigh

The Texans are actually a pretty good draw form what I’ve seen ratings wise
I don’t believe that
So, biggest Texans embarrassment ever. 🤦🏻♂️
Humiliation ritual
How embarrassing.
At least everyone got to see the D.
The lights were brighter than expected
Next round will be much lower views. Nobody wants to watch the Pats go against QBless Broncos. Nobody cares.
SB will be highly viewed as always, but I don’t see most people being very excited about it. People are over the Pats
I understand that we are giving CJ one more year. I get all that. But since Sunday I can’t shake the feeling that he single-handedly ruined this defense’s claim to history. He threw it away. I hate him not as a player, but genuinely as a person. I get that he gets one more year and all that but this combined with his podcast tour and Michael Rubin parties after his rookie year, and his complete lack of growth…. I just hate him. It’s whatever lol
Hell of a big bed to shit, CJ.
Yeah because people are tired of seeing the same old story, they want to see the underdogs come up and win their first chip as we can see with the College National championship.. unfortunately we didn’t have the write author for our Cinderella story.
Salt keeps finding the wound like a heat seeking missile
Sick. Awesome
So 38+ million people got to see CJ shit his pants. His momma must be so proud.
Of course it was
I sware, Texans always get the most embarrassing public moments. When they’re doing good, they get solted into generic spot that’s buried. Have all public eyes, they choke.

Everyone was excited to watch the Patsys lose, and we shut the bed.

They announced this just so CJ could get even more embarrassed
