Getz already spending Luis’ salary. You love to see it.
He was worth -1.6 WAR last season, 3rd worst in baseball.
Sure why not. -1.7 bWAR last year so he was one of the worst players in baseball.
Can’t hurt as a camp invite for ST depth.

Huge. Wouldn’t have been able to do this without getting Robert’s 20 mil off the books. Having a seat at the table paid off
Low risk. He had a solid 2023 & 2024. Maybe he can bounce back.

2023: 2.8 WAR in 135 games, 17 HR, .790 OPS, 120 OPS+
2024: 2.1 WAR in 117 games, 8 HR, .761 OPS, 120 OPS+
He had a bad year last year in 80 games. This is a great minor league deal. It’s depth at an area of need (lefty hitter with a bit of pop) that can play 1B/RF. If he performs alright, then great. If he doesn’t, cut him loose. Who knows, he might return to his 2 to 3 WAR self. This is a no lose situation.
This has nothing to do with Robert or the money saved from trading him. This is a good move either way. If this is it, then that’s something to be mad about.
