  5. It cracks me up how people say Moore went back to college to avoid the Jets, but also think that prestigious coaches will want to work for Woody Johnson. We're likely to get an up and coming hire who's looking to improve this defense so they can go to another team with a padded record.

  10. What is the point of Aaron Glenn if we have to worry about the defense and schemes etc..? Isn't he a defensive mind? Former DC? What is the point of him at this point? Shouldn't he be calling the defense?

  12. It's underwhelming because some of these guys haven't had a good track record as a DC – Jones, Martindale, and O'Neil specifically. I'll admit some of them are intriguing like Banda and Araujo and obviously Jim. But I think the main reason fans are less than impressed is that we don't realistically think we're getting a Jim Leonhard. So for a ton of these guys it just feels like "well, I hope I'm wrong about them". It's not the lack of experience, it's their track record.

  13. I'm not so sure that Glenn is on the hot seat. I think that ownership will have enough patience to see it through this time. I think they learned a lot from the Sam darnold experience

  16. Thanks for the update! I agree that we aren’t the most attractive destination, it kinda makes me laugh a little when people complain that they aren’t interviewing x y and z coach.. when it turns out they just denied us..
    you put a good perspective on how turnarounds can happen, but we also need to improve the personnel to see that, it just won’t be coaching that will improve this defense.
    Curious to see how we attack this thruout the offseason.

  17. I was clamoring for AG getting a real shot next season but if coordinators don’t even want to come here then what are we doing. It may be time to move on and make a play for Matt LaFleur.

  19. "The Jets are not a desirable job" — Ian, 1/22/2026. True enough but what's even more disturbing is that the Jets are making this worse by holding onto Glenn. I'd frankly be amazed if there's a coach worth a damn who isn't saying to Glenn, "Aaron, you have a terrible team that needs new starters at several key positions including QB, the most important position, and at almost every position on D. Why in the world should I come work for you when you're a really great candidate to be fired by next Halloween when your team is revealed to be just as pathetic as last year?" At best, next year will be a rebuilding year with a mediocre vet QB grooming a drafted QB, with Cook back on the practice squad waiting for another chance and Zappe and Hooker waiting for a chance to take Cook's spot. Since Glenn seems like the last guy on Earth who could get results out of such a year, it seems very likely that he'll be gone in-season next year. The "big ship" that's "turning slow" is in fact Woody, a man too clueless and too wealthy to care all that much about next season. One of the first things I learned in the corporate world is that rich people have a very different sense of time than people who aren't rich. That goes quadruple with a guy like Woody Johnson.

  23. Just stick with Harris if it comes downs to it, and Glenn needs to be heavily involved and call plays. If he can't do that then we have some serious egg on our face.
