Jesus Christ Eli got flattened lol
Eli got the absolute hell beat out of him and he just kept getting back up like Captain America, “I can do this all day.”
Eli was just such a beast
Dart would have died multiple times if he was playing in this game š
Absolute testament to Eli’s toughness.
I also love watching his pocket mobility back then. Dart has a good level of awareness, but not nearly as good as Eli’s yet.
Eli got his ass whooped that game and just kept getting up.
I feel this 480p version captures the true spirit.
Eli doing his best Rocky 4 impression. I didnāt think he was going make it. What a performance.
Heroic Eli performance
The 49ers D-lineman Justin Smith got away with holding two giants o-linemen all game.
That throw down the sideline to Bradshaw is so fucking underrated
Gotta be the most stressful game I’ve ever watched. Cruz popped the fuck off in the first half until they gave Carlos Rogers some help in covering him.
People that judge Eli based on his stat lines never really got how dependent Kevin Gilbride’s scheme was on smart receivers being in sync w/the QB. They ran a *ton* of option routes, which meant that both Eli and the WR had to read the defense, and reach the same conclusion independently, in order for everything to work.
But that day, it did. They caught Rogers on mic complaining about it on the sidelines. “I line up outside, he runs inside! I line up inside, he runs outside!”
Been so long that Iāve seen a Giants kicker make a field goal that Iām actually nostalgic for it lol.
Legendary
This game is the game I consider to be Eliās best game in his career. We couldnāt run the ball and he needed to be perfect for us to win. The amount of hits he took and the how bruised and battered his uniform was with every passing snap just cements to me that this was his best game as a giant.
Add that to the fact he had the flu or something the week of the game and lost like 10 pounds because he couldnāt hold anything down. Absolutely legendary.
Eli was a tank. If we were running dungeons he’d be kick ass teammate.
Good to see Eli getting the props he does for this game, we all know.
My underrated shoutouts always go to Jacquian Williams, Steve Weatherford, Devin Thomas, and Kyle Williams (probably not underrated on that last one)
This game should put Eli in the HOF tbh
This game was incredibly nerve-wracking
I was at the game. It was cold with an annoying light rain the whole time but it was the best game I’ve ever been too. Walking out of the stadium was glorious.
I may have been sicker during this game than for SB42. To experience this live was brutal. What an incredible slugfest of a game.
Jacquian Williams and Erik Howard are the most forgotten Giant heroes in their storied history. Both forced fumbles against SF in championship games to get the Giants to the Superbowl
Appreciation post to Eli. HOFer, should been first ballot
What a game. That muffed kick return had me hypedĀ
Should’ve included Weatherord’s MOTHERFUCKING SUPER BOWL seconds after the kick
Fucking loved that man. Still do. Man I miss that feeling on pins and needles watching the Giants and Eli pull off the improbable. Some of my favorite memories as a fan
iāll never forget being 7 yelling āweāre going to the superbowlā after the Kyle Williams fumble and all the 49er fans looking back at my dad, grandpa and I
Eli the GOAT in that one
Eli’s best game of his career. Maybe one of the bravest performances by a QB in playoff history.
