As expected, the Rockets aren’t likely to do anything at the deadline including getting PG help

  1. It was probably always going to be difficult to get done and Adams getting hurt probably makes it even tougher.

  2. We could use a microwave scorer. Someone who could get buckets would help. The team can hold other teams, it’s just someone reliable needs to score. We saw that with Reed’s 4th qtr against the Spurs.

  3. Well it’s sacrifice our forward depth in DFS who is looking much better the last 3 games, or our centre depth in Capela or Steve O, and with Steven out potentially the rest of the season I think that option is off the table. FVV is off the table with his NTC.

I do think we need help, but with our playstyle and cap situation I don’t think we have too many options but to rely on Reed or JD to step up.

  4. If that’s the case I’m fine good with it, Reed and Amen need the experience and so does Ime for that matter

  5. I don’t believe this. I seriously think this account has been making up shit lmao. We gotta stop letting this accounts say whatever

  6. It’s fine and makes sense

Our obvious need is a PG, I think we can all agree

It makes no sense to pay up for a real needle mover since we have FVV coming back next year. We’d be significantly hurting our future. And I don’t think there’s a real needle mover out there anyway. Trae, ja, or melo is not winning us a ring.

If you’re not bringing in someone that significantly raises our ceiling giving up assets like valuable picks or a Tari is pointless. It’s not like 5 more regular season wins really does anything but help playoff seeding.

Clint would’ve been an obvious trade candidate but now with Adams out we need him

Maybe you could do DFS for something, but what are we really getting with him without adding draft capital that is worth far more than whatever mid guy we’d get back

I’m not going to freak out if we don’t give up our ceiling in future years for a band aid until Fred is ready.

  7. Clint was our most likely and significant trade piece with his place in the rotation and salary, but that changed quickly after Adam’s injury.

The real question is: will this now stop the trade proposal posts? 😂

  8. Makes sense. I would rather Reed and Amen get trial by fire than waste assets on a stop gap.

  9. So this was a gap and developmental year so we are just playing for vibes only to be knocked out of the second round with picks from a suns team which is playing well

  10. There’s almost certainly no big trade coming, Fred’s money and NTC makes that nearly impossible.

I’m still holding out hope that we can sling one of DFS/Tari for a serviceable point guard, someone like a Tre Jones calibre.

  11. I don’t see why not if our starting 18 and 7 pg is out for the season. More minutes for Reed i love but another pg for the playoffs going against the big dogs makes sense

  12. Maybe now all the idiots who can’t be bothered to do a single second of research can stop clamoring about how we should/could trade FVV for a PG or call X player trash and then immediately turn around and suggest trading them for Y superstar.

  13. Good for all players ball handling. Next year we gonna have 5 point guards as starter lol.

  14. Not surprised and not disappointed either. No sense in blowing up the team to get a mid grade pg at best . Roll with the youngins

  15. Without Adams and FVV there is no need to make any moves anyway. That’s the smartest choice.

Just use this season as another chance for development.

Whatever we achieve in the Playoffs now is a win.

By the end of the season we should be able to re-evaluate the squad and make decisions.
