[TSN] Insider Trading – LeBrun on JT Miller’s future in NY: “His name is already out there, being bandied about, I’m not quite sure why because what I was told today is J.T. Miller has no intention of waiving his NMC and the Rangers have no intention of going to him to ask to waive it”

  1. His name is out there because he has been a terrible fit in NY & everyone but Chris Drury realizes it

  2. Trade Miller and Trocheck to Pittsburgh so they both get to play back at home. I’d honestly take Erik Karlsson’s contract back to make it work under the cap.

  3. Wait

So JT miller doesn’t want to change his NMC

The organization hasn’t asked him to

But his “name is out there”?

What does any of this mean? Am I just stupid today or does this sound like an attempt to justify a headline?

  4. If you read this JT, are you *sure* you don’t want to go try to win a cup somewhere else?

  5. He not getting traded. Who wants him? Who looks at his play and says wow that’s the missing piece.

  6. JT discovering that Drury will turn on all. He could be Goodrow 2.0.

He has a year left on NMC, four years left on contract and then be 37. So this is likely last contract.

Anything possible. Drury isn’t qualified to make these decisions though.

  7. Our FO should be banned from handing out NMC especially because our dumbass GM doesn’t even save on term or aav when he hands them out

  8. Mika seems like the only big contract that would be impossible to move. I’d happily watch a total rebuild around Fox and Shesty while knowing we’re paying Mika too much for what will probably soon become 15-20 goals a season.

  9. Aside from the fact that Drury isn’t going to trade his captain for the second year in a row, JT has quietly been great lately (8 points in his last four games, 12 points in his last nine). He’s looked the healthiest he has all season.

  10. Teams can ask all they want but he’s not going anywhere. When Vancouver traded him they pretty much gave him two options, one was Carolina and one was New York, he chose the latter and I highly doubt he’s willing to even consider waiving again.

  11. Nothing wrong with testing the waters. There is still leverage if he won’t waive…less playing time, line demotions, scratches.

On a separate note, I am so tired of these no move clauses. Trades are part of the peril of professional sports. This issue should be brought up during negotiations when the CBA expires.

  12. Since returning from his shoulder injury JT Miller has scored 9 points in 7 games, and was ppg for the last 13 games before the shoulder injury. He has 4 straight multi-point games and is now out scoring Elias Pettersson in the same amount of games played.

JT’s not going anywhere and we’re better for it.

  13. Rangers keep naming guys, that are here for 1-3 years, Captain.. We haven’t had a real Captain in a long time! Next, it will be Fox, who already plateaued & will move on, soon.. Lafrenière should’ve been the guy, but we all see how that’s going..

  14. Wait we’re putting names out there? I’d like to throw Celebrini and Mackinon in the mix then. Why not

  15. Another over the hill veteran on a fat contract in the twilight of his career. When have we seen this before?

  16. I would retain 50% of his salary to not watch this asshole for the next four years

  17. In the most rangers move ever, chris drury sent out a letter to fans before checking if anyone was willing to be traded….

Watch them trade Soucy, carrik, raddish, and brodzinsky, not resign bread and announce “rebuild accomplished”
