  1. Would have had a top five pick last season if not for wolf. He is human this season and it shows. Unfortunately Cooley has been keeping out of last. We have a goaltending issue

  2. IMO The sooner this management goes to this coaching staff and tells them that their rebuilding and have a plan in place for getting younger, the better. (If it hasn't already happened). I typically don't like management meddling in coaching matters, but this utilization of young players can't countinue. The other rebuilding teams have everyone pulling in the same direction, right now this is dysfunctional.

  3. Mt plan would be.

I would try to trade Kadri to Montreal for Hage and Dach and maybe a 2nd.

    Coleman to Philly for Michkof.

Maybe Weegar for Tij Iginla and a 1st.

I think the Flames have almost too much young talent to deal with.

Then offer sheet Brdard when he becomes an RFA.

  4. Rhett finally gets something right here.

Neither Weager nor Whitecloud need to be traded this year.
Both have term left, they can be traded any time prior to their contracts expiring.
Conny has enough picks in 2026, if he were to trade Coleman and Kadri, that would be more than enough for this year.

  5. Kadri is frustrated because this team cannot generate offense. I suspect Huberdeau's sudden injury is also frustration. Even Backlund looks defeated out there which is kind of rare for him. Coach after coach after coach cannot get this team to score, even if players had been successful elsewhere.

Stop hiring the same kind of defensive coach. Shift your whole orgainizational coaching philosophy from the Wranglers and Flames. Hire offensive coaches. Yes, you'll probably lose a lot until you draft enough skill. But that is the way the league is going. Montreal. San Jose, Chicago, Anaheim, Buffalo, Ottawa. Hell Edmonton was the first version of that, but now everyone is doing it.

All I know is this plugger style of hockey the Flames persistently choose is over.

  6. You heard it here 1st, Coleman will retire at 36, as a Flame, and join the management team, followed a year later by Baks. We are just past the midway point with Kadri's contract, now 3 and a half years in. Sigh …… The return is almost immaterial at this point because, like Zhadorov, his trade will be addition by subtraction. Having said that, Colorado's 1st in 2027 (that recoups the Monahan 1st) and a bottom 6 or minor league centre, as a short term fill-in, should do the trick. If salary is retained, more assets come into play but there is no need for that because Landeskog, I fear, is permanently cooked, freeing up …… $7,000,000 in cap space. As fine a player as Whitecloud may be, he is way more valuable as a trade chip for the Flames, assuming at least a 1st or 2nd rounder+ comes back in return. Weegs will be fine and continue to be a valued mentor. Hubie continues to be a huge problem and barring "injury", like a super bad groin pull, I predict we're a little more than a year away from him being given the opportunity to play out the string as a Wrangler's player/coach. That development would provide more salary relief for the flames than a buyout would. He is only tradable if a future tanker needs to BUY salary cap like San Jose did with Carey Price.
