Sabres puck movement was great for most of the game last night. I think the low shot counts are a direct result of the defense first ethic so it doesn’t matter to me. It creates great chances when they come & they are finishing a large portion of these chances. They are also learning how to finish games. I’m loving it

Why would Benson get 7 million? He’s 20 years old and isn’t close to getting 20 goals, bridge deal for 3 million. Cozens had 32 goals and 68 points and was given 7 million then he fell apart, team won’t risk it with Benson, he’s good but let’s get real here, he won’t even get 15 goals
I like what im seeing for the most part. Now what does the GM do to make them a serious contender in next few seasons?
They are winning, and still have alot of room for improvements. The skys the limit.

It’s great to see our Sabres rolling! They are without a doubt playing some good hockey. They seem more free- I definitely agree on the goaltending play. It has been outstanding currently. Let’s go Buffalo!
That stick exploding leading to the turnover that gives Krebs the empty net goal is the hockey gods telling you to go eff yourself.
Weird to be in late January and have to look at the entire first round of the upcoming draft prospects. If your first round pick this year can bring in a valuable player now you gotta move it.

This is the same system Ruff ran under Hasek, only with better scoring and worse goaltending. The turtling and boxing out of chances is by design.
Defense and especially consistent goaltending has made such a big difference.
They are still scoring decently however they continue to miss too many grade A scoring chances. Either making 1 pass too many or missing the net.
Hard to complain with them winning but if they fix these issues they can become so much better even.
