  1. as a wizards fan i root for the pacers more than i root for anyone else in the world

  2. Utah is doing pretty well, so at least that’s creating some space. I’m honestly surprised the Wizards, and the Kings too, are so bad. I didn’t think they’d be this bad. I thought Sarr was gonna break out this year.

Also, look, people complained we didn’t tank last year, blah blah, I think we just might have an elite coach. Sac has Dennis Schroeder and an all star big and elite scorer and look at how much they’re winning. I don’t even think DLo is in Dallas’ rotation now.

  3. I like New Orleans chances tonight and aren’t worried about them in general as they don’t own their pick so have no reason to tank. That leaves us at 4th and with the top 3 picks being so strong this year we just need 1 of the remaining 3 to pass us and I’d consider it a successful tank while still picking up some developmental wins and not being a complete disaster-class.

  4. Lol yes. The kings and pels I still have a shred of hope that they’ll pass us since their rosters are too good as presently constructed to be as bad as they are. The pacers and wizards I have no hope.

For the wizards though, I’m ok with it. If their pick falls outside the top 8 I believe the Knicks get it. I’d rather they finish lower than us to try and keep the knicks out of a top pick.

  5. It’s astounding how bad all of them are.

The Pels have decent to good (some bordering on great) players in Zion, Trey Murphy, DQ, Fears, Bey, Poole, Alvarado plus Murray and Herb Jones on the mend.

The Pacers just went to the finals last year. Yes, they lost their best player in Haliburton, but the Celtics lost Tatum and they’re 2nd in the East. They have pretty much everyone else back from injury now and they still get rocked night in and night out. And don’t tell me it’s coaching because Carlisle is a great coach and he’s shown in multiple times.

The Wizards have a bevy of young talent bolstered by vets from winning teams. Sarr and Kyshawn look particularly promising, but Bilal, Tre Johnson, Will Riley and Bub have all shown flashes.

The Kings players are old but they can still play well. Westbrook is having a resurgent season, Demar and Lavine can still get buckets, Raynaud is emerging as a top rookie, Schroeder is a great backup and Sabonis is still a stat-stuffer.

Then you look at us and we’re playing 4 rookies heavy minutes, we’ve got Terrance Mann playing starting PG most of the time, Claxton leads our team in assists, Clowney is shooting sub-40%, and up until recently, Ziaire, Jalen Wilson and Tyrese Martin were rotation staples.

    Make it make sense.

  6. These teams are shamelessly tanking. I hope the basketball gods reward the Nets for being honorable and ethical.
